  1. 1. Submicrometre aerosol emissions from sea spray and road traffic

    Författare :Monica Mårtensson; Douglas Nilsson; Christer Johansson; Michael Smith; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Eddy covariance method; aerosol emissions; submicrometre sea salt parameterisation; primary marine organic aerosols; sea spray; road traffic emission factors; air-sea exchange; aerosol dynamics model; internal aerosol mixing; combustion aerosols; Atmosphere and hydrosphere sciences; Atmosfärs- och hydrosfärsvetenskap; atmosfärvetenskap; Atmospheric Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The uncertainty of the climate and health effects of aerosols is still large, one important reason being lack of knowledge of the primary emissions. This thesis combines laboratory and field experiments, and process modelling in an effort to better quantify the submicrometre aerosol emissions and to understand some of the processes in the atmosphere. 2. 2. The Tropospheric Aerosol - Measurements and Modelling. Case studies in Tanzania and Southeast Asia and development of models for size resolved aerosol simulations on the regional scale

    Författare :Cecilia Bennet; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aerosol; PM; Source assignment; Chemical Transport Modelling; Model inter-comparison; Sea salt emissions and Aerosol dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : The tropospheric aerosol is a complex constituent of the atmosphere that has impacts on health and the climate. This thesis presents five different studies from Tanzania, Southeast Asia and Europe dealing with urban measurements of particle mass and elemental composition, regional scale modelling of ozone and particle mass of inorganic aerosols and development of modules for sea salt emissions and size resolved aerosol particles with aerosol dynamical mechanisms implemented in a regional scale chemistry and transport model (CTM).
