  1. 11. Baltic shore-lands facing climate change

    Författare :Alma Strandmark; Sara Cousins; Martin Entling; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arthropod diversity; Baltic shores; Beetles; Climate change; Energy flows; Marine inflow; Sea level rise; Shore ecosystems; Species distribution; Spiders; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis provides new insight concerning drivers behind differences in arthropod diversity and abundance in Baltic shore ecosystems and how the arthropod communities might be affected when the conditions in the Baltic Sea are altered due to climate change.  The focus has been on climate related changes that are unique for coastal ecosystems, especially sea level rise and changes in the inflow of marine nutrients. 2. 12. Hydrographic and morphologic processes at Falsterbo peninsula - Present conditions and future scenarios

    Författare :Sten Blomgren; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogeology; Wave climate; Unconfined aquifer; Shore protection; Sea-level rise; Numerical modeling; Kriging; Groins; Flooding; Greenhouse effect; Digital elevation model; Beach erosion; Coastal morphology; geographical and geological engineering; Hydrogeologi; teknisk geologi; teknisk geografi; Geophysics; physical oceanography; meteorology; Geofysik; fysisk oceanografi; meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Falsterbo Peninsula in the south-west corner of Sweden is low-lying and built up of unconsolidated sand. Vulnerability to high water levels and wave action is of concern for the 10,000 residents of the peninsula, especially in consideration of global warming as enhanced inundation and coastal erosion problems may ensue. 3. 13. En merkantilistisk början : Stockholms textila import 1720–1738

    Författare :Lili-Annè Aldman; Klas Nyberg; Kersti Ullenhag; Pernilla Jonsson; Maurits Nyström; Christina Dalhede; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Economic history; eighteenth century; mercantilsim; Sweden; Stockholm; Hornian government; institutions; economic policy; sumptuary laws; import fees; import bans; trade balance; foreign trade; intermediary trade; shipping; Baltic Sea; North Sea; imports; textiles; production of fabrics; toll records; price on market; Ekonomisk historia; Ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to, from an institutional approach, study how the Stockholm importers within the textile sector adapted their foreign trade to the change in economic policy 1720 through 1738. The focus is to investigate to what extent the introduction of new laws, regulations etc. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Comparing Climate Forcers on a Common Scale

    Författare :Erik Sterner; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spatial-temporal Optimization; Carbon Cycle; Greenhouse Gases; Short-lived Climate Forcers; Upwelling-Diffusion; Metric; Energy Balance; Sea Level Rise; Non-cooperative Nash Equilibrium; Resource Extraction;

    Sammanfattning : The climate is changing at a rapid pace. Through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the world has agreed to hold the on-going temperature increase below 2 °C. Climate change is caused by emissions of different atmospheric species (climate forcers). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Climate Change: Models, Metrics and Meaning Making

    Författare :Erik Sterner; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate Science Literacy; Emission Metrics; Knowledge-Behavior Gap; Short-lived Climate Forcers; SF Failure; Integral Theory; Carbon Cycle; Sea Level Rise; Common Pool Resources; Resource Extraction;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis, combining research in climate science and educational science, investigates different aspects of climate knowledge. It consists of five papers and covers three major topics: emission metrics, public understanding of atmospheric CO2 accumulation, and spatial modelling of natural resource use. LÄS MER
