21. Multi-Scattering: Computational light transport in turbid media
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents and describes the development of an online freely accessible software called Multi-Scattering for the computational modeling of light propagation in scattering and absorbing media. The model is based on the use of the Monte Carlo method, where billions of photon packets are being launched and tracked through simulated cubic volumes. LÄS MER
22. Elastic and inelastic scattering effects in conductance measurements at the nanoscale : A theoretical treatise
Sammanfattning : Elastic and inelastic interactions are studied in tunnel junctions of a superconducting nanoelectromechanical setup and in response to resent experimental superconducting scanning tunneling microscope findings on a paramagnetic molecule. In addition, the electron density of molecular graphene is modeled by a scattering theory approach in very good agreement with experiment. LÄS MER
23. Thermoelectric Effects and Single Electron Sources in Mesoscopic Transport; a Scattering Approach
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the theoretical analysis of thermoelectric transport properties and single electron sources in mesoscopic conductors. Wepropose two types of thermoelectric heat engines and analyze them with thehelp of performance quantifiers. LÄS MER
24. Colloidal interactions obtained from total internal reflection microscopy measurements and scattering data
Sammanfattning : The scattering of radiation can be used to extract information about the interactions between colloidal (10^{-7}-10^{-3} cm radius) particles suspended in liquids. As colloidal interactions incorporate entropic effects they are weak and while system specific they are governed by a number of general mechanisms. LÄS MER
25. Integral Identities for Passive Systems and Spherical Waves in Scattering and Antenna Problems
Sammanfattning : Sum rules and physical limitations within electromagnetic theory and antenna theory have received significant attention in the last few years. However, the derivations are often relying on application specific and sometimes unsupported assumptions, and therefore a mathematically rigorous and generally applicable approach seems timely.
