    Författare :Christopher Sauer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biomass conversion; infrared spectroscopy; BTX Aromatics; 2; 5-dimethylfuran; Zeolite; Catalysis; Online Analysis; Zeotype;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the use of biomass as a potentially green feedstock for the chemical industry in the urgent shift away from fossil resources. I elaborate on reasons why we cannot afford to burn virgin biomass for energy production, among them a variety of ecosystem services that forests and other lands provide. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Green aromatics for a bio-based economy - Valorization of biomass derived model compounds over zeolites studied by online analysis

    Författare :Christopher Sauer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; online analysis; zeolite; biomass conversion; catalysis; 2; 5-dimethylfuran;

    Sammanfattning : In the strive towards sustainable chemical production, its carbon-based products can no longer be produced from fossil resources but need to be manufactured from a renewable feedstock. Simple aromatic building blocks like benzene, toluene and xylenes (BTX) can be obtained by catalytic valorization of biomass derived platform molecules such as furans provided efficient catalysts can be formulated. 3. 3. Teater och utvecklingsstörning : En studie av Ållateatern

    Författare :Lennart Sauer; Stina Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social service; Intellectual disabilities; Theatre; Social care; Deviance Normality; Ambivalence; Disability culture; Socialt arbete; Social work; Socialt arbete;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is an inductive, qualitative study of a theatre programme with persons with intellectual disabilities. The aims of the dissertation were: • to explore the experiences had by the actors as expressed through their descriptions, images and narratives, • to explore the context in which these descriptions, images and narratives take place and, • to conceptualise the experiences had by the actors. 4. 4. Mutational effects on protein structure and function

    Författare :Jonas Carlsson; Persson Bengt; Uwe Sauer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mutation; prediction; phenotypes; homology model; virtual screening; molecular dynamics; amyloid; cancer; membrane protein; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis several important proteins are investigated from a structural perspective. Some of the proteins are disease related while other have important but not completely characterised functions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Adaptive Responses by Transcriptional Regulators to small molecules in Prokaryotes : Structural studies of two bacterial one-component signal transduction systems DntR and HpNikR

    Författare :Cyril Dian; Peter Brzezinski; Séan McSweeney; Elisabeth Sauer-Eriksson; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Prokaryotes are continually exposed to variations in their environment. Survival in unstable milieu requires a wide range of transcriptional regulators (TRs) that respond to specific environmental and cellular signals by modulating gene expression and provide an appropriate physiological response to external stimuli.
