  1. 16. Temporal and spatial dynamics in subarctic peat plateaus and thermokarst lakes

    Författare :A. Britta K. Sannel; Peter Kuhry; Peter Jansson; Ian A. Brown; Serge Payette; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Peatlands; permafrost; subarctic; peat plateau; thermokarst lake; macrofossil analysis; carbon nitrogen ratio; peat accumulation; carbon accumulation; remote sensing; binary encoding; time-series analysis; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Permafrost peatlands are widespread at high northern latitudes and are important soil organic carbon reservoirs. A future warming in these areas, as suggested by global climate models, can cause thawing and increased ground subsidence (thermokarst), resulting in changes in surface hydrology and ecosystem functioning. 2. 17. Monitoring lithospheric motions by Satellite geodesy

    Författare :Nureldin A. A. Gido; Mohammad Bagherbandi; Lars E. Sjöberg; Faramarz Nilfouroushan; Hossein Nahavandchi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geodesi; Geodesy;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding of global and local Earth’s dynamic processes is of great importance to the Earth’s system knowledge, human life, and sustainability goals (e.g. climatic change and geo-hazard assessment, etc.). LÄS MER

  3. 18. Environmental Applications of Aquatic Remote Sensing

    Författare :Petra Philipson née Ammenberg; Eugenio Zilioli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bildanalys; Bildanalys; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis; datoriserad bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Many lakes, coastal zones and oceans are directly or indirectly influenced by human activities. Through the outlet of a vast amount of substances in the air and water, we are changing the natural conditions on local and global levels. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Satellite Monitoring of Urbanization and Indicator-based Assessment of Environmental Impact

    Författare :Dorothy Furberg; Yifang Ban; Xiaojun Yang; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urbanization; remote sensing; land-cover classification; landscape metrics; environmental indicators; environmental impact; ecosystem services; green infrastructure; habitat network analysis; Greater Toronto Area; Stockholm; Shanghai; urbanisering; fjärranalys; marktäckeklassificering; landskapsnyckeltal; miljöindikatorer; miljöpåverkan; ekosystemtjänster; grön infrastruktur; habitat nätverksanalys; Greater Toronto Area; Stockholm; Shanghai; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik; Geoinformatik; Geoinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : As of 2018, 55% of the world population resides in urban areas. This proportion is projected to increase to 68% by 2050 (United Nations 2018). The Stockholm region is no exception to this urbanizing trend: the population of Stockholm City has risen by 28% since the year 2000. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Observing Sea Level Using Reflected Global Navigation Satellite System Signals

    Författare :Johan Löfgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; tide gauge; Global Navigation Satellite Systems; ocean tides; reflected signals; sea-level monitoring;

    Sammanfattning : Sea-level rise due to global warming is predicted to have a large impact on human society, especially for populations living in coastal regions and on islands. It is therefore of great importance to monitor the sea level and to increase the understanding of the local hydrodynamic and meteorological responses to a global sea-level rise. LÄS MER
