1. Corporate Hegemony through Sustainability : A Study of Sustainability Standards and CSR Practices as Tools to Demobilise Community Resistance in the Albanian Oil Industry
Sammanfattning : Many critical business scholars have disregarded sustainability standards and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as mere window dressing, operating as a smokescreen to hide illegitimate corporate practices. Others have pointed to these activities as hegemonic articulations, as a way to strengthen corporate alliances with and dominance over other actors in society. LÄS MER
2. The wild male mink as a sentinel for endocrine-disrupting chemicals and reproductive toxicity
Sammanfattning : Increasing evidence indicates that pollutants may affect the hormone system of humans and wildlife. These endocrine-disrupting chemicals are related to an increased risk of a variety of diseases and disorders, including adverse effects on the reproductive system. LÄS MER
3. Industrial design - engineering design interaction: Studies of Influencing Factors in Swedish Product Developing Industry
Sammanfattning : Worldwide competition with focus on customer and market needs have initialised new demands on product design and development. Form design aspects can be of decisive importance in the choice of technical principle. However, the integration of industrial design and engineering design activities is not trivial. LÄS MER
4. Toward enhanced interaction between engineering design and industrial design
Sammanfattning : The product development industry faces increased product complexity with demands on cost, lead-time and quality, resulting in a need to integrate multiple disciplines in the product development work. This thesis focuses on the integration of engineering design and industrial design. LÄS MER
5. Moisture-induced stress and distortion of wood : A numerical and experimental study of wood's drying and long-term behaviour
Sammanfattning : With the current advances made in three-dimensional modelling of wood, it is possible to provide an overall picture of moisture flow, and moisture-induced stress and deformations, whereas previously, experiments only provided local measurements. The main aim of the doctoral thesis is to investigate the possibilities of the developed three-dimensional numerical model to predict the behaviour of wood when simultaneously exposed to a mechanical load and a particular climate.
