  1. 11. EMF Exposure and Radiation Performance of Millimeter-Wave Antennas in 5G Mobile Terminals

    Författare :Bo Xu; Sailing He; Oscar Quevedo-Teruel; Akimasa Hirata; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Since 2019, 5G has been rolled out in many countries. To support the demand of increasing traffic capacity, for the first time, the millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency spectrum is exploited for the mobile wireless telecommunication technologies. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Theory of transformation optics and invisibility cloak design

    Författare :Pu Zhang; Sailing He; Hao Yang; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transformation optics; Maxwell’s equations; invisibility cloak; half-space cloak; reduced cloak; inverse transformation; carpet cloak; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Research on metamaterials has been growing ever since the first experimental realization of double negative media. The theory of transformation optics provides people with a perfect tool to make use of vast possibilities of the constitutive parameters for metamaterials. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Investigating and Enhancing Performance of Multiple Antenna Systems in Compact MIMO/Diversity Terminals

    Författare :Shuai Zhang; Sailing He; Raj Mittra; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiple antennas; planar inverted-F antenna; mutual coupling; slot antenna; compact antenna; mobile antenna; Q factors; antenna array; ultra-wideband UWB antenna; pattern diversity; polarization diversity; user effects; adaptive arrays; chassis mode;

    Sammanfattning : Today, owners of small communicating device are interested in transmitting or receiving various multimedia data. By increasing the number of antennas at the transmitter and/or the receiver side of the wireless link, the diversity/Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) techniques can increase wireless channel capacity without the need for additional power or spectrum in rich scattering environments. 4. 14. Mobile Antenna Systems for 4G and 5G Applications with User Body Interaction

    Författare :Kun Zhao; Sailing He; Cyril Luxey; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Antenna; MIMO; mmWave; Mobile communication; SAR; Power density; User body effect; Channel modeling; Multiplex efficiency; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the thesis, the user body effect on antennas in a mobile terminal is discussed. In order to overcome the degradation of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) performance due to the user body effect, a quad-elements MIMO antenna array which can mitigate the body effect through an adaptive antenna switching method is introduced for 4G mobile terminals.
