  1. 1. Towards a Road Safety Development Index (RSDI) : Development of an International Index to Measure Road Safety Performance

    Författare :Ghazwan Al Haji; Kenneth Asp; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Technology; Road safety; RSDI; ASEAN; international comparisons; Human Development; Index; ranking; principal components; composite indicators; macro-performance indicators; macro-models; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Aim. This study suggests a set of methodologies to combine different indicators of road safety into a single index. The RSDI is a simple and quick composite index, which may become a significant measurement in comparing, ranking and determining road safety levels in different countries and regions worldwide. 2. 2. Performance Indicators. A performance prediction method for moisture safety design

    Författare :Veronica Yverås; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial Neural Network; Performance prediction; Moisture safety;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this research project is to develop and gain knowledge about a different approach to moisture safety design based on AI in order to attain healthy buildings and relate this new approach to current practice and prospective users. Secondary data (data produced for some other purpose) was used to train Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to predict the performance of outdoor ventilated crawl-spaces regarding microbiological smell, mould and rot. 3. 3. Identifying the Potential of Combined Road Safety Interventions - A Method to Evaluate Future Effects of Integrated Road and Vehicle Safety Technologies

    Författare :Johan Strandroth; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Evaluation; Road Safety Management; Autonomous Emergency Braking; Safety Performance Indicators; System Approach; Prediction; Integrated Safety; Vehicle Safety Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Health loss in the road transport system is one of the leading global public health problems with approximately 1.3 million people killed annually. In order to have a systematical approach to improved road safety, it has become common practice to form road safety management policies that include target setting and evaluation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Indicators for traffic safety assessment and prediction and their application in micro-simulation modelling : a study of urban and suburban intersections

    Författare :Jeffery Archer; Karl-Lennart Bång; Oliver Carsten; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Social sciences; Traffic safety; proximal safety indicators; micro-simulation; safety analysis; Samhällsvetenskap; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : In order to achieve sustainable long-term transport infrastructure development, there is a growing need for fast, reliable and effective methods to evaluate and predict the impact of traffic safety measures. Recognising this need, and the need for an active traffic safety approach, this thesis focuses on traffic safety assessment and prediction based on the use of safety indicators that measure the spatial and/or temporal proximity of safety critical events. 5. 5. Road Safety Development Index : Theory, Philosophy and Practice

    Författare :Ghazwan Al-Haji; Kenneth Asp; Karl-Lennart Bång; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transport; Road Traffic; Sustainability; Road safety; European research cooperation; Civil engineering and architecture; Research on Europe; Public health science; Statistics; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation develops, presents and tests a new international tool, the so-called Road Safety Development Index (RSDI), which indicates in a comprehensive and easy way the severity of the road safety situation in a specific country and/or in comparison with other countries. There are three pillars of outcomes involved in the framework of RSDI. LÄS MER
