6. Pathogenetic Mechanisms in Soft Tissue Tumors
Sammanfattning : Soft tissue tumors (STT) constitute a heterogeneous group of tumors that arise in tissues of mesenchymal origin. They are currently classified according to morphology and resemblance to normal tissue into over 100 subtypes. LÄS MER
7. PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOMECHANICAL FACTORS DETERMINING CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING PERFORMANCE
Sammanfattning : Cross-country (c.c.) skiing is a complex sport discipline from both physiological and biomechanical perspectives, with varying course topographies that require different proportions of the involved sub-techniques to be utilised. A relatively new event in c. LÄS MER
8. Spin momentum transfer effects for spintronic device applications
Sammanfattning : The recent discovery that a spin-polarized current can exert a large torque on a ferromagnet, through direct transfer of spin angular momentum, offers the possibility of electrical current controlled manipulation of magnetic moment in nanoscale magnetic device structures. This so-called spin torque effect holds great promise for two applications, namely, spin torque oscillators (STOs) for wireless communication and radar communication, and spin transfer torque RAM (STT-RAM) for data/information storage. 9. Spin Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators with Single Magnetic Layers
Sammanfattning : Spin-torque oscillators (STOs) are capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency signals within a nanometer-sized region. In this thesis, novel designs for STOs will be discussed; the common theme of these designs will be their use of only one ferromagnetic (FM) material. LÄS MER
10. Fabrication and Characterization of Nanocontact Spin-Torque Oscillators
Sammanfattning : The manufacturing of nanocontact-based spin-torque oscillators (NC-STOs)has opened the door for spintronic devices to play a part as active microwaveelements. The NC-STO has the capability of converting a direct current intoa microwave signal, and vice versa, by utilizing the spin transfer torque (STT)in ferromagnetic multilayer systems. LÄS MER
