1. Nonlinear dynamics of Josephson Junction Chains and Superconducting Resonators
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the results of the experimental studies on two kindof Superconducting circuits: one-dimensional Josephson junction chains andsuperconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators. One-dimensionalJosephson junction chains are constructed by connecting many Superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) in series. LÄS MER
2. On the Zero and Low Field Vortex Dynamics : An Experimental Study of Type-II Superconductors
Sammanfattning : Dynamic properties of type-II superconductors have been experimentally studied in zero and low magnetic fields using SQUID magnetometry and I–V measurements. In zero magnetic field close to the critical temperature, the physical properties of type-II superconductors are dominated by spontaneously created vortices. 3. Differential Magnetic Biosensor using HTS SQUID Gradiometer
Sammanfattning : A fundamental tool for containing an epidemic outbreak and mitigating its effects is early diagnostics. Currently, most of the diagnostic tests are performed by trained staff in centralized labs, which are expensive and time-consuming to establish and operate. Lack of access to such facilities could have devastating effects. LÄS MER
4. Relaxation and Resonance in Brownian Motion-Coupled Resonators
Sammanfattning : In physics, there exists a number of paradigm systems – exactly solvable models that can represent a wide variety of physical realizations. My research is concerned with two of these paradigm systems: the harmonic oscillator and Brownian motion. LÄS MER
5. Parametrically pumped superconducting circuits
Sammanfattning : In this licentiate thesis, I present the design, fabrication, and characterization of superconducting parametric resonators, for use in quantum information processing. These devices are quarter-wavelength coplanar waveguide resonators (~5 GHz), terminated at one end by a non-linear inductance provided by a SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device). LÄS MER
