  1. 1. Protein Interactions Involving the Laminin G-type Domains of Vitamin K-dependent Protein S

    Författare :Petra Evenäs; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; tyrosine phosphorylation.; Sky receptor; SHBG-like region; protein S; G domain; Gas6; Activated protein C; C4b-binding protein; Proteins; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Sammanfattning : The studies described in this thesis focus on the involvement of the two laminin G-type domains of vitamin K-dependent protein S in various biological contexts. The G-type domains are located in the C-terminal sex-hormone-binding globulin (SHBG)-like region. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Structural and Functional Studies of Gas6

    Författare :Jonas Stenhoff; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; EDTA; calcium; multimer; monomer; platelets; Mer; Axl; vitamin K; Gas6; human circulation; soluble receptor; Tyro3; receptor tyrosine kinases; growth factor;

    Sammanfattning : The vitamin K-dependent and ubiquitously expressed 82 kDa glycoprotein product of the growth-arrest-specific-gene 6, Gas6, shows 44% sequence identity to the anticoagulant protein, protein S. Both proteins share further the same domain organization. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The EGF-like Modules of Anticoagulant Protein S. Studies of Ca2+ binding and module interactions

    Författare :Yvonne Stenberg; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; enzymology; Proteins; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; calcium binding; Protein S; EGF-like module; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Sammanfattning : Protein S functions as a cofactor to activated protein C (APC) in the degradation of factors Va and VIIIa. In plasma protein S circulates in two forms; 30-40 % circulates as free protein S molecules while the remaining 60-70 % exists in a 1:1 complex with C4b-binding protein (C4BP). Only the free form of protein S functions as a cofactor to APC. LÄS MER
