  1. 1. Characterization of Small Antennas & Wireless Devices for MIMO Systems in Multipath & Line-of-Sight

    Författare :Ahmed Hussain; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; USRP; OTA; SDR; RIMP; TRP; TIS; Reverberation chamber; Rayleigh; MIMO; LOS; LTE; Throughput;

    Sammanfattning : The current thesis investigates over-the-air (OTA) performance characterization of small antennas and wireless terminals in rich isotropic multipath (RIMP) environment, as well as in pure line-of-sight (LOS) environment when taking into account the random positions and orientations of the mobile terminals caused by the realistic user behavior. The latest mobile wireless terminals such as smart phones and tablets can be used in any random orientation thereby making even a received LOS-component appear as a random voltage at the antenna ports over time. 2. 2. Enzymatic Reduction of Ketones

    Författare :Magnus Carlquist; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inhibition; flavonoids; anthracyclines; human carbonyl reductase 1; kinetic resolution; Asymmetric bioreduction; bicyclic diketones; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; Escherichia coli; AKR; SDR;

    Sammanfattning : Methods have been studied for the production of chiral alcohols, which are of importance in organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agro-chemicals and fragrances, etc., through the enzymatic or microbial reduction of ketones. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Prostate Cancer; Metabolic Risk Factors, Drug Utilisation, Adverse Drug Reactions

    Författare :Birgitta Grundmark; Lars Holmberg; Björn Zethelius; Gunnar Engström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; Epidemiology; Pharmacoepidemiology; Metabolic Syndrome; Selenium; Smoking; hOGG1; MnSOD; Competing Risk; Adherence; Persistance; Medical Possession Ratio; MPR; Signal Detection; PRR; proportional reporting ratio; ULSAM; PcBaSE; EudraVigilance; SPDR; Swedish Prescribe Drug Registry; NPCR; National Prostate Cancer Registry; SDR; Signal; disproportionality analysis; PRR-TA; EudraVigilance; Epidemiology; Epidemiologi; Kirurgi; särskilt urologi; Urology; Oncology; Onkologi; Geriatrics; Geriatrik;

    Sammanfattning : Increased possibilities during the last decades for early detection of prostate cancer have sparked research on preventable or treatable risk factors and on improvements in therapy. Treatments of the disease still entail significant side effects potentially affecting men during the rest of their lives. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Empowerment and Private Law : Civil Impetus for Sustainable Development

    Författare :Staffan Michelson; Rättssociologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; sustainable development; resilience; empowerment; legal emopwerment; private law; civil rights; agenda 2030; SDGs; power of law; case study; societal change; sociology of law; norms; SDR norms; environment;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is the result of a study of private law viewed as a source of power for individuals to enhance values they favour. As an appropriate example of such values, the study has focused on current norms that have been recognized and mirrored as sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the UN Agenda 2030. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Characterization of stress-inducible short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) in plants : study of a novel small protein family from Pisum sativum (pea)

    Författare :Nikolai Scherbak; Åke Strid; Jan Rydström; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell biology; Biology; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : In pea (Pisum sativum), the short-chain alcohol dehydrogenase-like protein (SAD) gene family consists of at least three members (SAD-A, -B, and -C). The SAD genes are transiently expressed in plants after short exposures to ultraviolet-B radiation, which in turn leads to formation of SAD protein in leaf and stem tissue upon prolonged irradiation.
