1. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its possible role as a neurotrophic factor. I have investigated the effect of VEGF on neurons in culture but also in vivo, following a crush lesion of the sciatic nerve, and following nerve repair. LÄS MER
2. Macrophages, Nitric oxide synthases and Heme oxygenases: possible roles during peripheral nerve regeneration
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate the suggestions that macrophages, and the systems generating nitric oxide (NO) and carbon monoxide (CO), i.e. nitric oxide synthases (NOS) and heme oxygenases (HO), could be important for peripheral nerve regeneration. LÄS MER
3. Particles in small airways : mechanisms for deposition and clearance and pharmacokinetic assessments of delivered dose to the lung
Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND: Knowledge about lung deposition and clearance from airways of inhaled particles/drugs are essential for evaluation of health effects of inhaled pollutants and to achieve optimal drug dose to the lung. The primary defence mechanism in the conducting airways is the mucociliary clearance (MCC). LÄS MER
4. Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Peptide (PACAP): An Experimental Study On the Expression and Regulation in the Peripheral Nervous System
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with PACAP and PACAP type-1 receptors in the sensory and autonomic parts of the peripheral nervous system. In the rat, PACAP is expressed in small-sized sensory neurons and in C-fibers. LÄS MER
5. CALLUM Linear Transmitter - Architecture and Circuit Analysis
Sammanfattning : This doctoral dissertation presents a study of linear radio transmitters based on the combined analog locked loop universal modulator (CALLUM) approach. Linear architectures such as CALLUM are very attractive for power-efficient operations, since they have no fundamental limitations prohibiting a 100% efficiency for all envelope levels, without sacrificing the potential of a linear transmission.
