    Sammanfattning : The Cardiovascular Risk Factor Study in Southern Sweden, CRISS, was initiated to explore if men at increased risk at developing CVD risk factors can be identified already before age 40. Starting in 1990 two birth cohorts of men residing in Helsingborg, Sweden, were surveyed at age 37 (n=991, participation rate 68%), at age 40 (n=770) and age 43 (n=702), respectively. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Outcomes in treated hypertensive men - a follow-up during three decades

    Författare :Torbjörn Almgren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Hypertension; Diabetes; Drug treatment; Stroke; Myocardial infarction;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: To analyse survival, cause specific mortality and cardiovascular morbidity in relation to cardiovascular risk factors, to investigate the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and the cardiovascular risk this constitutes and to study systolic blood pressure over time in treated hypertensive men during three decades of follow-up. Subjects and methods: 754 hypertensive men were identified at a screening in Göteborg of a randomly selected group of 10000 men, 47-54 years old, and were treated and followed with annual check-ups at an outpatient clinic during three decades. 3. 3. Mutation Analysis and Hypercholesterolemia: Studies in FH patients and in healthy middle-aged men with high, low, or increasing cholesterol levels during a six-year follow-up (the CRISS study)

    Författare :Ulf Ekström; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []

    Sammanfattning : Our aims were to characterize familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) in a Swedish FH population and to further elucidate the clinical expression and treatment response in relation to genotype. Secondly, we wanted to identify gene variants, which may have impact on cholesterol levels in apparently healthy subjects. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of risk factor modification management in patients with coronary heart disease and patients´ experiences of secondary prevention

    Författare :Mona From Attebring; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Coronary heart disease; myocardial infarction; secondary prevention; risk factor modification; smoking cessation; validation; predictors; patients experiences; nursing;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: To evaluate management of risk factor modification among patients suffering from coronary heart disease and to explore patients experiences of secondary prevention. Methods: After establishing a secondary prevention programme, patients were offered follow-up visits to a nurse, one year after the coronary event for evaluation of various risk factors associated with recurrence (I, II).
