1. Amorphous, Nanocrystalline, Single Crystalline: Morphology of Magnetic Thin Films and Multilayers
Sammanfattning : Properties of magnetic thin film devices cannot be understood without detailed knowledge of their structure. For this purpose, a variety of thin film and multilayer systems have been studied. LÄS MER
2. Uncovering Magnetic Order in Nanostructured Disordered Materials : A Study of Amorphous Magnetic Layered Structures
Sammanfattning : The scope of this thesis is the study of the interplay between structure and magnetism in amorphous materials. The investigations focus on the growth of amorphous layers and the study of the influence of structural disorder and reduced physical extension on the magnetic properties of thin films and multilayers. 3. Toward functional Metal-Organic Frameworks: molecular doping, depth profiling, and surface growth
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, selected synthetic aspects of functional Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are considered. More specifically, the work is focused on MOFs doped with functional molecules in the role of structural linkers. LÄS MER
4. Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy of III-Nitride Semiconductors
Sammanfattning : This Licentiate Thesis covers experimental and theoretical investigations of the bulk plasmon response to different compositions and strain states of group III-nitride materials. Investigated materials were grown using magnetron sputtering epitaxy and metal organic chemical vapour deposition and studied by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS). 5. The role of the CdS buffer layer in the Cu(In,Ga)Se2 thin film solar cell
Sammanfattning : The Cu(In,Ga)Se2 thin film solar cell is one of the most promising candidates for low-costand high-efficiency solar cells. To date efficiencies approaching 18% have been achieved whenincluding a thin CdS layer prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD) between theCu(In,Ga)Se2 and ZnO layers. LÄS MER
