  1. 1. Environmental and ethical aspects of destruction of ammunition

    Författare :Karin Alverbro; Göran Finnveden; Ronald Wennersten; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Other civil engineering and architecture; Övrig samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : Many decision-making situations today affect the safety of individuals and the environment,for instance hazardous waste management. In practice, many of these decisions are madewithout an overall view and with the focus on either the environment or safety. Now and then the areas of regulation are in conflict, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. From energy efficiency to integrated sustainable urbanism in residential development in China

    Författare :Zhichang Cai; Ronald Wennersten; Getachew Assefa Wondimagegnehu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; China; Green Building; New Cave house; Eco-office; Mass-Housing; Green Residential Development; Industrial Ecology; Landsea Housing Project; Hammarby Sjöstad; Systems Thinking; Industrial engineering and economy; Industriell teknik och ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : China has adopted Sustainable Development as a national strategy for all industries. In civil construction sector, sustainability is regarded as the development of Green Building in China. Since 2000, China has introduced a series of policies and laws to promote Green Building. 3. 3. Frame Analysis in Environmental Conflicts : The case of ethanol production in Brazil

    Författare :Ester Galli; Ronald Wennersten; Tom Dwyer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Brazil; biodiversity; biofuel; CO2 emissions; environmental conflict; ethanol; frame; frame analysis; land use change; sugarcane; sugarcane cutters; sustainable energy;

    Sammanfattning : Governments and policy-makers are currently dealing with some key issues as energy security in countries dependent on oil imports; global economic development, including increased food production; and controlling global climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. The perception that biofuel could solve these challenges simultaneously has led to the implementation of policy and regulatory mechanisms on the mandatory use of biofuels, resulting in a sharp increase in biofuel production and consumption. 4. 4. Approaches to energy efficient building development : studying under Chinese contexts

    Författare :Zhenhong Gu; Ronald Wennersten; Per Heiselberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency; China; Passive House; Low Exergy system; Built Environmental Assessment; LCA; Swedish housing; Hammarby Sjöstad; Eco-village; Game theory; System theory; Soft Systems Methodology; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a general description of approaches to energy efficient building development under Chinese contexts. The purpose of the work is to discuss how Chinese building development can be approved from an energy saving perspective. Building development is a complicated process that relates to many stakeholders’ interests. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of an Environment-Accident Index : A planning tool to protect the environment in case of a chemical spill

    Författare :Åsa Scott Andersson; Mats Tysklind; Ingrid Fängmark; Olof Stjernström; Stellan Fisher; Per Leffler; Ronald Wennersten; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Environment-Accident Index; Chemical Accidents; environmental effects; questionnaire; expert judgements; statistical multivariate design; PCA; PLS; Miljökemi; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing mass and complexity of chemicals being produced and transported has resulted in more rigorous demands on both authorities as well as chemical-handling industries to assess the risks involved. The Environment-Accident Index (EAI), has been proposed as a planning tool created as an equation in which chemical properties (variables describing the chemical involved) are combined with site-specific properties (variables describing the accident site).
