    Sammanfattning : The present study focusses on the theatre audience, and on its’ role in the maintenance of the theatrical situation. It is shown that an important number ofthe author's more significant characters are distinguished by an overwhelming desire for knowledge andeconomic profit that proves impossible to satisfy.
