  1. 6. Drill Monitoring for Rock Mass Assessment in Tunnelling

    Författare :Jeroen van Eldert; Björn Nilsen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Site investigations for tunnel projects are often unable to determine rock mass conditions accurately for the entire tunnel, as these investigations obtain qualitative data for only limited parts of the tunnel. This is the case at the Stockholm Bypass project in Sweden. LÄS MER

  2. 7. On reliability-based design of rock tunnel support

    Författare :William Bjureland; Stefan Larsson; Fredrik Johansson; Johan Spross; Lars Rosén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock engineering; reliability-based design; Eurocode 7; observational method; tunnel engineering; Bergmekanik; sannolikhetsbaserad dimensionering; Eurokod 7; observationsmetoden; tunnelbyggnation.; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Tunneling involves large uncertainties. Since 2009, design of rock tunnels in European countries should be performed in accordance with the Eurocodes. The main principle in the Eurocodes is that it must be shown in all design situations that no relevant limit state is exceeded. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Groundwater resources in hard rock coastal terrains : Insights into heterogeneity and spatial variability

    Författare :Robert Earon; Bo Olofsson; Okke Batelaan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Crystalline Rock; Groundwater Balance; Kinematic porosity; Groundwater Recharge; Water Security; Coastal Aquifer; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Mark- och vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Challenges regarding water security in hard rock coastal regions with limited soil cover are: a seasonal absence of recharge during times of peak residency, heterogeneity and variability of the fracture network, close proximity to saline water sources and spatially inconsistent storage and extraction. In areas where it is not feasible to connect residents to municipal water systems, a better understanding of the resilience of reservoirs is needed. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Rock Evaluation Using Digital Images and Drill Monitoring Data : Before and after rock blasting

    Författare :Sohail Manzoor; Anna Gustafson; Håkan Schunnesson; Daniel Johansson; Philipp Hartlieb; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Measurement while drilling; Photogrammetry; Rock fragmentation; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik; Mining and Rock Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This research is carried out to better understand the nature of the rock mass and to have a better anticipation of rock fragmentation before blasting the rock mass. Current practices of assessing rock mass usually involve techniques that focus on the surface or outcrop of the rock mass such as scanline surveys, window surveys, photogrammetry and laser scanning etc. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Peak Shear Strength of Rock Joints – Towards a Methodology for Prediction Based on Field Data

    Författare :Francisco Ríos Bayona; Fredrik Johansson; Diego Mas Ivars; Stefan Larsson; José Muralha; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock joints; peak shear strength; DEM; matedness; aperture; Bergssprickor; skjuvhållfasthet; DEM; sprickans passning; sprickvidd; Jord- och bergmekanik; Soil and Rock Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : The rock joint shear strength at field scale is an important design parameter and remains a challenge for rock mechanics engineers. In Sweden, there exist a large number of concrete dams that are founded on rock masses which in many cases contain sub-horizontal rock joints. LÄS MER
