1. Towards a Model of General Text Complexity for Swedish
Sammanfattning : In an increasingly networked world, where the amount of written information is growing at a rate never before seen, the ability to read and absorb written information is of utmost importance for anything but a superficial understanding of life's complexities. That is an example of a sentence which is not very easy to read. LÄS MER
2. Evaluation of Non-Metallic Inclusions after Deformation and Their Effect on the Machinability of Steel
Sammanfattning : The presence of non-metallic inclusions (NMIs) have critical effects on both the mechanical properties and machinability of steels. In the present thesis, one focus is to study the characteristics of deformed sulfides (MnS) for a stainless steel (3R65) and a tool steel (42CrMo4). LÄS MER
3. Utilization of recovered lime-containing materials from pulp and paper industries as slag formers in stainless steel production
Sammanfattning : In recent years, major efforts have been made to develop a more circular economy. The desire to reuse, remanufacture and recycle materials are important for the development towards a sustainable society. An extended lifespan of materials helps to reduce the amount of waste kept in landfills, as well as to reduce the extraction of natural resources. LÄS MER
4. Influence of Stirring on the Inclusion Characteristics during Vacuum Degassing in a Ladle
Sammanfattning : Steel cleanliness as a function of stirring practice during vacuum degassing treatment have been investigated in industrial studies at the steel plants of SSAB Special Steels in Oxelösund and Uddeholm AB in Hagfors. The cleanliness was examined with regards to the contents of sulphur, nitrogen and large inclusions (>10µm). LÄS MER
5. A study of solid and liquid inclusion separation at the steel-slag interface
Sammanfattning : This thesis work aimed to provide a better knowledge of inclusion behavior at the steel-slag interface. All results are based on mathematical modeling of liquid and solid inclusion separation to the slag. The model descriptions of the inclusion transfer are based on the equation of motion at the system. LÄS MER
