21. "What are your intentions?" - On Ship Bridge Decision Making
Sammanfattning : AbstractThis thesis discusses central aspects of decision making on a Ship Bridge in its natural context with focus on the task of navigating in fairway. The background springs from the fast development of instruments related to work on the ship bridge. If not implemented and used correctly new technology may even contribute to accidents. LÄS MER
22. Image-based numerical modelling of heterogeneous materials
Sammanfattning : In science there has always been a desire to visualise the invisible. Since the discovery of X-rays in 1895, imaging research has made remarkable progress. Nowadays, state-of-the-art technology allows to visualise the micro-structure of objects in three dimensions. However, merely visualising the structure is often insufficient. LÄS MER
23. Development of soft sensors for monitoring and control of bioprocesses
Sammanfattning : In the manufacture of bio-therapeutics the importance of a well-known process is key for a high product titer and low batch to batch variations. Soft sensors are based on the concept that online sensor signals can be used as inputs to mathematical models to derive new valuable process information. LÄS MER
24. Rate as the relation of changes in two quantities : A variation theory perspective of learning rate of change
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises three original papers about learning rate of change in school mathematics. The overall aim of the thesis is to contribute with knowledge in this particular area of research. Within this aim, each of the original papers contribute with its own perspective. LÄS MER
25. Algebraic Dynamical Systems, Analytical Results and Numerical Simulations
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study discrete dynamical system, given by a polynomial, over both finite extension of the fields of p-adic numbers and over finite fields. Especially in the p-adic case, we study fixed points of dynamical systems, and which elements that are attracted to them. We show with different examples how complex these dynamics are. LÄS MER
