  1. 6. Risk factors for autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block

    Författare :Sabrina Meisgen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Placental transfer of maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies during pregnancy is associated with conduction disturbances and inflammation in the developing fetal heart, termed autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block (CHB). Maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies are the main risk factors associated with the fetal cardiac manifestations to date, however, the low recurrence rate despite persisting autoantibodies in subsequent pregnancies indicates that additional factors determine fetal susceptibility. 2. 7. Risk factors and comorbidity in primary Sjögren’s syndrome

    Författare :Johannes Mofors; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Primary Sjögren’s syndrome is an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system targets the exocrine glands. The disease is characterized by inflammation and dysfunction of the salivary and lacrimal glands, leading to dry eyes and mouth. The etiopathogenesis of autoimmune diseases is not entirely known. 3. 8. Autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Författare :Robert Klauninger; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) affects neonates of Ro/SSA and La/SSB positive women. NLE is associated with several clinical manifestations including skin rash, cytopenia and congenital heart block (CHB). CHB is the most severe manifestation which can develop into a lethal atrioventricular (AV) block. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Genetics of systemic autoimmunity and comorbidities

    Författare :Guðný Ella Thorlacius; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Sjögren‘s syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disease that typically affects the salivary and lacrimal glands leading to dry eyes and dry mouth, but the patients may also have systemic involvement. Most patients with SS carry autoantibodies, most often to the Ro (SSA) and La (SSB) proteins. LÄS MER

  5. 10. The TRIM21/Ro52 E3 ligase and its antibodies in autoimmune disease

    Författare :Aurélie Ambrosi; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Patients with the systemic autoimmune diseases systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) often have autoantibodies against Ro/SSA (composed of the TRIM21/Ro52 and Ro60 antigens) and La/SSB. The biological function of the TRIM21/Ro52 protein itself has remained unknown until its recent description as a tripartite-motif (TRIM) family member and an E3 ligase involved in ubiquitination.
