  1. 1. Modeling and simulating inhibitory mechanisms in mental image reinterpretation : towards cooperative human-computer creativity

    Författare :Rita Kovordanyi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : With the accelerating development of computer and software technology, human-computer cooperation issues are becoming more and more centered on the human user's abilities and weaknesses. The cognitive characteristics of visual communication and reasoning, and how these affect the way users take advantage of the richness of visually represented information comprise one area which needs to be further explored within this context. 2. 2. An Informed System Development Approach to Tropical Cyclone Track and Intensity Forecasting

    Författare :Chandan Roy; Rita Kovordanyi; Henrik Eriksson; Mattias Villani; Frank C. Lin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biologically based artificial neural networks; bi-directionally connected networks; temporal sequence learning; accurate tropical cyclone forecasting; informative warning message; ;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Tropical Cyclones (TCs) inflict considerable damage to life and property every year. A major problem is that residents often hesitate to follow evacuation orders when the early warning messages are perceived as inaccurate or uninformative. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring Biologically-Inspired Interactive Networks for Object Recognition

    Författare :Mohammad Saifullah; Arne Jönsson; Rita Kovordányi; Christian Balkenius; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Interactive neural networks; Biologically-Inspired models; Visual attention; Object recognition.; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with biologically-inspired interactive neural networks for the task of object recognition. Such networks offer an interesting alternative approach to traditional image processing techniques. Although the networks are very powerful classification tools, they are difficult to handle due to their bidirectional interactivity. LÄS MER
