  2. 2. Safety as a process : From risk perception to safety activity

    Författare :Christina Stave; Tore J Larsson; Institutionen för produkt- och produktionsutveckling Chalmers Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Accident prevention; Occupation; Risk; Perception; Safety; Food; Industry; V Medicine; V Medicine; Oha Labour and labour market; Oha Labour and labour market;

    Sammanfattning : The frequency of occupational accidents in the Swedish food industry and agriculture is high. This thesis has therefore explored the 'process of safety' in order to detect and analyse factors that either hinder or facilitate safety activity and to further develop intervention methods towards increased safety activity. 3. 3. Noise and music : a matter of risk perception

    Författare :Stephen E. Widén; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Adolescents; Tinnitus; Noise sensitivity; Socio-economic status; Attitudes; Use of hearing protection; Risk behaviour; Risk-consideration; Self-image; Norms and Ideals; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Adolescents; Tinnitus; Noise sensitivity; Socio-economic status; Attitudes; Use of;

    Sammanfattning : The prevalence of tinnitus and hearing impairments among adolescents seems to increase as a consequence of exposure to loud noise. Several studies have highlighted the negative auditory effects of exposure to loud music at concerts and discotheques, environments in which young people today spend considerable periods of time. 4. 4. Changes in Hydrological Risk Perception and Implications for Disaster Risk Reduction

    Författare :Elena Mondino; Giuliano Di Baldassarre; Johanna Mård; Teun Terpstra; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Economic losses caused by hydrological extremes, such as floods and droughts, are exacerbating because of increased anthropogenic activities and global environmental changes. Understanding how individuals and communities interact with hydrological extremes thus becomes fundamental to develop effective strategies for disaster risk reduction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Uncertainty, variability and environmental risk analysis

    Författare :Monika Filipsson; Tomas Öberg; Bo Bergbäck; Lars Rosén; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :Contaminated land; exposure assessment; exposure factors; risk analysis; risk perception; uncertainty; variability; probabilistic risk assessment; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : The negative effects of hazardous substances and possible measures that can be taken are evaluated in the environmental risk analysis process, consisting of risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Uncertainty due to lack of knowledge and natural variability are always present in this process. LÄS MER
