  1. 1. Rigid Body Ship Dynamics

    Författare :Martin Alexandersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inverse dynamics; Extended Kalman filter; Ship digital twin; Ship manoeuvring; RTS smoother; Multicollinearity; System identification;

    Sammanfattning : It is common today that operational data is recorded onboard ships within the Internet of Ships (IoS) paradigm. This enables the possibility to build ship digital twins as digital copies of the real ships. Predicting the ship’s motions with ship dynamics could be an important sub-component of these ship digital twins. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Analysis of ICP pulsatility and CSF dynamics : the pulsatility curve and effects of postural changes, with implications for idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus

    Författare :Sara Qvarlander; Anders Eklund; Jan Malm; Richard Birgander; Martin U Schuhmann; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cerebrospinal fluid; CSF dynamics; Intracranial pressure; Pulse pressure; Normal pressure hydrocephalus; Posture; Predictive tests; Mathematical modelling; Magnetic resonance imaging; Infusion tests;

    Sammanfattning : The volume defined by the rigid cranium is shared by the brain, blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). With every heartbeat the arterial blood volume briefly increases and venous blood and CSF are forced out of the cranium, leading to pulsatility in CSF flow and intracranial pressure (ICP). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ghosts and machines : regularized variational methods for interactive simulations of multibodies with dry frictional contacts

    Författare :Claude Lacoursière; Bo Kåggström; Ander Klarbring; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Discrete mechanics; Variational method; Contact problems; Impacts; Least action principle; Saddle point problems; Lagrange Multipliers; Constrained systems; Multibody Systems; Numerical regularization; Constraint realization; Constraint stabilization; Dry friction; Differential Algebraic Equations; Nonsmooth problems; Linear Complementarity; Quaternion algebra; Numerical linear algebra; Physics modeling; Interactive simulation; Numerical stability; Rigid body dynamics; Dissipative systems; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik;

    Sammanfattning : A time-discrete formulation of the variational principle of mechanics is used to provide a consistent theoretical framework for the construction and analysis of low order integration methods. These are applied to mechanical systems subject to mixed constraints and dry frictional contacts and impacts---machines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Strongly Coupled Performance Prediction for Sailing Yachts based on CFD

    Författare :Rickard Lindstrand Levin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind Triangle; RANS; Sailing; Velocity Prediction Program; Rigid Body Motion; Wide and Light Yacht; Laser dinghy;

    Sammanfattning : Quantifying performance of sailing yachts can be done in many different ways. Historically the most common way is a static approach where a steady state solution is obtained by solving equilibrium equations in 3 or 4 degrees of freedom. More recently, dynamic methods have appeared. In this thesis a method of the latter kind in proposed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A Position Control-based Approach to Stiff Objects Haptic Rendering

    Författare :Yang Wang; Kjell Andersson; Lei Feng; Anders Robertsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; haptic rendering; position control-based approach; rigid-body interaction; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : With electronic components and computational power becoming more portable and available to general consumers, applications like virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) are on the rise and renovating the industry of training simulators. Though it is not fully accepted in surgical robots, haptic force feedback can be safely introduced into various surgical training simulators to convey the necessary haptic cues needed to develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
