  1. 1. Holocene and Latest Glacial Paleoceanography in the North-Eastern Skagerrak

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Institutionen för geologi och geokemi

    Författare :Richard Gyllencreutz; Jan Backman; Eve Arnold; Reidulv Bøe; [2005]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Skagerrak; Holocene; sediment; chirp sonar; grain size; mineral magnetic properties; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Detailed information on past oceanographic and climatic changes is crucial for our understanding of natural climate variability and for the assessment of future climate variations. Sediments strongly influenced by the North Atlantic Current accumulate at high rates in the northeastern Skagerrak, forming a potential highresolution archive for information on past climatic and oceanographic processes and events. 2. 2. Geology of Lagoa das Furnas, a crater lake on São Miguel, Azores archipelago

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Institutionen för geologi och geokemi

    Författare :Thommy Andersson; Otto Hermelin; Martin Jakobsson; Alasdair Skelton; Erik Sturkell; Richard Gyllencreutz; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lagoa das Furnas; Azores; crater lake; geophysical mapping; tephrochronology; volcanic dome; maringeologi; Marine Geology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the results from a geophysical mapping and coring campaign of Lagoa das Furnas are presented. Specific focus is placed on the origin of a subaqueous volcanic cone mapped in the southern part of the lake. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Asian monsoon - 50-7 ka BP

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Stockholm University

    Författare :Akkaneewut Chabangborn; Barbara Wohlfarth; Jenny Brendefelt; Ludvig Löwemark; Richard Gyllencreutz; Rodrigo Caballero; [2012]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The Asian monsoon is one of the largest climatic systems on Earth. It covers an area from the Arabian Sea to the South China Sea and from northern Australia to northern China with the world’s highest population density. Moreover, the Asian monsoon transports heat energy and humidity to higher latitudes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Acoustic characterization of submarine geomorphological features in the Polar Oceans

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Geological Sciences, Stockholm University

    Författare :Francis Freire; Richard Gyllencreutz; Martin Jakobsson; [2014]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Marine glacial environments contain unique seafloor features resulting from the dynamic glacial processes. Studying these submarine geomorphological features can help us understand the glacial paleo-environments so that we can predict the likely responses of present day glaciers and ice sheets to future changes in the climate. 5. 5. High Arctic submarine glaciogenic landscapes their formation and significance

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Geological Sciences, Stockholm University

    Författare :Francis Fletcher Freire; Richard Gyllencreutz; Martin Jakobsson; Haflidi Haflidason; [2016]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High Arctic; GrIS; marine geophysics; glaciogenic landscapes; ice streams; submarine slides; maringeologi; Marine Geology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on studies of glacial and slope morphology in the high Arctic of western Greenland shelf and the Molloy Hole seafloor spreading area, based on high-resolution acoustic methods and other geophysical data. The main purpose is to improve our understanding of glacial dynamics and associated processes in the marginal region of a large marine-terminating ice sheet. LÄS MER
