21. Dysfunctional but viable myocardium - ischemic heart disease assessed by magnetic resonance imaging and single photon emission computed tomography
Sammanfattning : The assessment of ischemic heart disease (IHD) often focuses on the detection of dysfunctional but viable myocardium which may improve in function following revascularization. Dysfunctional but viable myocardium is identified by distinct characteristics with regards to function, perfusion and viability. LÄS MER
22. Leukocytes in Angiogenesis : Learning from Transplanted Pancreatic Islets
Sammanfattning : Angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels, is a complex process involving several cell types and molecular signals. Excessive vascular growth is a problem in tumors, and insufficient vascularization hampers the function of transplanted insulin-producing pancreatic islets. LÄS MER
23. Chronic limb-threatening ischaemia - Prognosis after intervention
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Lower-extremity arterial disease (LEAD) is a major health problem worldwide. Chronic limb-threatening ischaemia (CLTI) is the most severe manifestation of LEAD. Open or endovascular recanalization is recommended for most patients with CLTI. LÄS MER
24. Studies on stable angina pectoris : risk indicators, prognosis and effects of verapamil or metoprolol treatment
Sammanfattning : Hemostatic and fibrinolytic variables, inflammatory parameters, catecholamines and lipid parameters were studied at baseline, in a long-term prospective study of 809 patients with stable angina pectoris, and compared to results obtained in healthy control subjects (n=50). The prognostic implications of the various parameters at baseline were evaluated, as well as possible influences of drug treatment on these variables and their prognostic implications were studied. 25. On-line vectorcardiography during coronary angioplasty and unstable coronary artery disease
Sammanfattning : This thesis evaluates the usefulness of continuous vectorcardiography (VCG) in patients undergoing elective coronary angioplasty and in patients with unstable coronary artery disease (CAD), for detection and quantitation of myocardial ischemia and for identification of patients at risk of coronary events. The aims were to investigate, whether continuous on-line VCG: 1. LÄS MER
