1. On-demand Restricted Delegation : A Framework for Dynamic, Context-Aware, Least-Privilege Delegation in Grids
Sammanfattning : In grids, delegation is a key facility that can be used to authenticate and authorize requests on behalf of disconnected users. In current grid systems, delegation is either performed dynamically, in an unrestricted manner, or by a secure but static method. LÄS MER
2. Applications of diffusion MRI: Tensor-valued encoding, time-dependent diffusion, and histological validation
Sammanfattning : Diffusion MRI (dMRI) sensitizes the MR signal to the diffusion of water molecules at the microscopic level and thereby non-invasively probes tissue microstructure. This is relevant when determining biological properties of tissues, for example, cancer type and its malignancy. LÄS MER
3. Three Aspects of Real-Time Multiprocessor Scheduling: Timeliness, Fault Tolerance, Mixed Criticality
Sammanfattning : The design of real-time systems faces two important challenges: incorporating more functions/services on existing hardware to make the system more attractive to the market, and deploying existing software on multiprocessors (e.g., multicore) to utilize moreprocessing power. LÄS MER
4. Cold feet in children with neurological disorders
Sammanfattning : These studies focused on presence of cold feet in children with neurological disorders and raised the questions: Does acupuncture affect skin temperature? Are cold feet a general symptom in children with neurological disorders? Are cold feet associated with other symptoms? What are the moods, health, and daily life experiences of these children’s parents? Study I assessed effects of acupuncture on skin temperature in children with neurological disorders. The study was of pilot character, to determine if further investigation in a larger, well-characterised group could be worthwhile. LÄS MER
5. Memory Efficient Hard Real-Time Garbage Collection
Sammanfattning : As the development of hardware progresses, computers are expected to solve increasingly complex problems. However, solving more complex problems requires more complex software. To be able to develop these software systems, new programming languages with new features and higher abstraction levels are introduced. LÄS MER
