  1. 1. Cellular Immune Responses to Cytomegalovirus

    Författare :Anna Karin Lidehäll; Olle Korsgren; Thomas Tötterman; Ineke ten Berge; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytomegalovirus; cellular immunology; infection; immune responses; congenital infection; CD4 T cells; CD8 T cells; immunosuppressed; Clinical immunology; Klinisk immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a widespread infection affecting 50-90% of the human population. A typical silent primary infection is followed by life-long persistence in the host under control by virus-specific CD8 (“killer”) and CD4 (“helper”) T cells. LÄS MER

  2. 2. IgM and Complement in Regulation of Antibody Responses

    Författare :Anna Sörman; Birgitta Heyman; Michael Holers; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgG; GC responses; feedback regulation; T-cell responses; antigen presentation; complement receptors 1 and 2; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Animals deficient in complement components C1q, C4, C3, and CR1/2 have severely impaired antibody responses. C1q is primarily activated by antibody-antigen complexes. Antigen-specific IgM in complex with an antigen is able to enhance the antibody response against that antigen. This is dependent on the ability of IgM to activate complement. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulatory aspects of innate immune responses

    Författare :Ahmed El Marghani; Per-Erik Olsson; Peter Kjellén; Muhammad Zafarullah; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Innate immunity; TOM1L1; inflammatory responses; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Activation of innate immunity is regulated by a variety of signaling molecules within the immune cells. The present thesis was aimed to improve our understanding of innate signaling mechanism and their possible use as bio-indicators of exposure and disease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Feedback Enhancement of Immune Responses by IgE, IgM, and IgG3 Antibodies

    Författare :Zhoujie Ding; Birgitta Heyman; Eva Severinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgE; IgM; IgG3; antibody responses; T-cell responses; antigen transportation; antigen presentation; complement; complement receptors 1 and 2; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Antibodies can enhance or suppress the immune responses against their specific antigens. This phenomenon is known as antibody-mediated feedback regulation. We have studied the mechanisms underlying IgE-, IgM-, and IgG3-mediated enhancement of immune responses in mouse models using intravenous immunization. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Responses to Children’s Crying : Emotion Socialization in a Swedish Preschool

    Författare :Malva Holm Kvist; Asta Cekaite; Polly Björk-Willén; Lasse Lipponen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; children; crying; preschool; socialization; social interaction; barn; gråt; förskola; socialisation; socialt samspel;

    Sammanfattning : Föreliggande avhandling undersöker små barns (1-4 år) gråt i en svensk förskola. Studien har en videoetnografisk ansats där data består av 68 timmar videoinspelningar. Avhandlingen tar sin utgångspunkt i ett sociokulturellt teoretisk perspektiv på hur socialt samspel utgör grunden för barns moraliska och emotionella socialisation. LÄS MER
