  1. 26. Energy-efficient cloud computing : autonomic resource provisioning for datacenters

    Författare :Selome Kostentinos Tesfatsion; Johan Tordsson; Eddie Wadbro; Erik Elmroth; Laurent Lefevre; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cloud computing; datacenter; energy-efficiency; performance management; virtualization;

    Sammanfattning : Energy efficiency has become an increasingly important concern in data centers because of issues associated with energy consumption, such as capital costs, operating expenses, and environmental impact. While energy loss due to suboptimal use of facilities and non-IT equipment has largely been reduced through the use of best-practice technologies, addressing energy wastage in IT equipment still requires the design and implementation of energy-aware resource management systems. 2. 27. Models and Methods for Development of DSP Applications on Manycore Processors

    Författare :Jerker Bengtsson; Bertil Svensson; Shuvra S. Bhattacharyya; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; parallel processing; manycore processors; high-performance digital signal processing; dataflow; concurrent models of computation; parallel code mapping; parallel machine model; dynamic performance analysis; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Advanced digital signal processing systems require specialized high-performance embedded computer architectures. The term high-performance translates to large amounts of data and computations per time unit. The term embedded further implies requirements on physical size and power efficiency. LÄS MER

  3. 28. From Competitive to Cooperative Resource Management for Cyber-Physical Systems

    Författare :Mikael Lindberg; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resource management; feedback; real-time; optimization; peer-to-peer; cyber-physical systems;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents models and methods for feedback-based resource management for cyber-physical systems. Common for the scenarios considered are severe resource constraints, uncertain and time-varying conditions and the goal of enabling flexibility in systems design rather than restricting it. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Vector Representations of Idioms in Data-Driven Chatbots for Robust Assistance

    Författare :Oluwatosin Adewumi; Marcus Liwicki; Foteini Liwicki; Taiwo Kolajo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conversational system; chatbot; vectors; data; deep models; Maskininlärning; Machine Learning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents resources capable of enhancing solutions of some Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, demonstrates the learning of abstractions by deep models through cross-lingual transferability, and shows how deep learning models trained on idioms can enhance open-domain conversational systems. The challenges of open-domain conversational systems are many and include bland repetitive utterances, lack of utterance diversity, lack of training data for low-resource languages, shallow world-knowledge and non-empathetic responses, among others. 5. 30. Navigating interconnected and electrified industries in the landscape of uncertainty : Exploring outcomes and values within circular solutions, and Swedish electricity supply and utilisation dynamics

    Författare :Christoffer Wadström; Maria Johansson; Erik Dahlquist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Circular system; Outcomes and values in industrial symbiosis; Global economic policy uncertainty; Energy system; Electricity use dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : As the global community faces unprecedented climate change challenges, the transition towards a sustainable society has become an urgent priority. The complexity of this transition is characterised by the interplay of developing and implementing green manufacturing processes, integrated energy systems, and circular resource flows, and the inherent dynamics associated with geopolitical uncertainties, energy price fluctuations, and global instability.
