  1. 11. Fault detection in water resource recovery facilities

    Författare :Oscar Samuelsson; Bengt Carlsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : Reliable sensor values are important for resource-efficient control and operations of wastewater treatment processes. Automatic fault detection methods are necessary to monitor the increasing amount of data produced in any modern water resource recovery facility (WRRF). LÄS MER

  2. 12. Operating Room Efficiency and Postoperative Recovery after Major Abdominal Surgery : The Surgical Team’s Efficiency and the Early Postoperative Recovery of Patients with Peritoneal Carcinomatosis

    Författare :Erebouni Arakelian; Haile Mahteme; Lena Gunningberg; Jan Larsson; Karin Norlén; Gun Nordström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; efficiency; operating room; postoperative recovery; peritoneal carcinomatos; cytoreductive surgery; HIPEC;

    Sammanfattning : In selected patients, surgical treatments such as cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) have enabled curative treatment options for previously incurable diseases, such as peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). The introduction of resource demanding surgery could affect the work process, efficiency, and productivity within a surgical department and factors influencing patient postoperative recovery processes may have an impact on the efficiency of patient care after major surgery. 3. 13. Improved life cycle assessment of wastewater and sludge management with resource recovery

    Författare :Sara Heimersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; allocation; LCA; sludge treatment; resource utilisation; sludge handling; biosolids; pathogen risks; wastewater treatment;

    Sammanfattning : Around the world every day, large amounts of wastewater are treated before release, to avoid impacts on humans and the environment. The treatment requires resources in the form of energy and chemicals, and it generates large amounts of sewage sludge, however, it can also serve as a source of energy, nutrients and carbon. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Modeling and analysis of restart, transport, and resource allocation in manufacturing systems using sequences of operations

    Författare :Patrik Bergagård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Discrete event systems; Extended finite automata; Error recovery; Manufacturing systems; Restart; Supervisory control theory; Resource allocation;

    Sammanfattning : Highly automated and flexible manufacturing systems have gained industrial popularity for their ability to combine high product volumes with high product quality. However, the process planning, the process to design and plan thetasks and actions, the operations, that constitute the manufacturing process, is a complex and time consuming process. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Essays on environmental and development economics : Public policy, resource prices and global warming

    Författare :Linda Sahlén; Thomas Aronsson; Kenneth Backlund; Ing-Marie Gren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Climate policy; technology transfer; computable general equilibrium model; environmental fiscal reform; revenue recycling; water scarcity; resource prices; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four self-contained papers, which are all related to important environmental and natural resource issues from a developing country perspective.Paper [I] concerns climate policy and addresses the potential welfare gains of introducing a technology transfer from the North (richer countries) to the South (poorer countries).
