  1. 1. Biomechanical and neural aspects of eccentric and concentric muscle performance in stroke subjects Implications for resistance training

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Mattias Hedlund; Umeå universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fMRI; Isokinetic; Motor imagery; Muscular strength; Resistance training; Neurological rehabilitation;

    Sammanfattning : Muscle weakness is one of the major causes of post-stroke disability. Stroke rehabilitation programs now often incorporate the same type of resistance training that is used for healthy subjects; however, the training effects induced from these training strategies are often limited for stroke patients. 3. 3. Physical Training and Testing in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Ragnheiður Harpa Arnardóttir; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :Physical therapy; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; pulmonary rehabilitation; physical training; endurance training; interval training; health-related quality of life; exercise testing; walking tests; physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aims of the studies were to investigate the effects of different training modalities on exercise capacity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with moderate or severe COPD and, further, to explore two of the physical tests used in pulmonary rehabilitation.In study I, the 12-minute walking distance (12MWD) did not increase on retesting in patients with exercise-induced hypoxemia (EIH) whereas 12MWD increased significantly on retesting in the non-EIH patients. Sammanfattning : Långvarig smärta i nacken är vanligt förekommande och orsakar både personligt lidande och stora kostnader för samhället. Långvariga nackbesvär är vanligare hos kvinnor än hos män. Det saknas kunskap om effektiva rehabiliteringsmetoder, men forskning har indikerat att träning som förbättrar nackens koordination kan vara effektivt. LÄS MER
