  1. 1. Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) : a maritime information service or traffic control system? : understanding everyday performance and resilience in a socio-technical system under change

    Författare :Gesa Praetorius; Erik Hollnagel; Joakim Dahlman; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vessel Traffic Service; Traffic Management; Cognitive Systems Engineering; Resilience Engineering; Performance Variability; Functional Resonance Analysis Method FRAM ; Technology byts ev till Engineering ; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) is a shore-side maritime assistance service that supports bridge teams in their safe navigation of port approaches and other areas that present navigational difficulties. The VTS is implemented in national waters and provides vessels with information through transmissions and broadcasts on Very High Frequency (VHF) radio. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Groundwater resources in hard rock coastal terrains : Insights into heterogeneity and spatial variability

    Författare :Robert Earon; Bo Olofsson; Okke Batelaan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Crystalline Rock; Groundwater Balance; Kinematic porosity; Groundwater Recharge; Water Security; Coastal Aquifer; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Mark- och vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Challenges regarding water security in hard rock coastal regions with limited soil cover are: a seasonal absence of recharge during times of peak residency, heterogeneity and variability of the fracture network, close proximity to saline water sources and spatially inconsistent storage and extraction. In areas where it is not feasible to connect residents to municipal water systems, a better understanding of the resilience of reservoirs is needed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Power Grid Resilience to High Impact Low Probability Events

    Författare :Samuel Forsberg; Mikael Bergkvist; Karin Thomas; Lars Nordström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Extreme weather; HILP events; offshore wind; power grid; resilience; vulnerability; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Systems Analysis; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot systemanalys;

    Sammanfattning : The electrification of societies and the decarbonisation of electricity production are changing energy systems worldwide. A fast transition towards the replacement of fossil fuels by intermittent renewable energy sources is expected in the next decades to combat climate change. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Toward Cyber-Secure and Resilient Networked Control Systems

    Författare :André Teixeira; Henrik Sandberg; Karl H. Johansson; Kameshwar Poolla; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : Global emissions have continued to rise steadily at levels exceeding the 1.5°C climate stabilization target. Therefore, the increase in the average global temperature and climate change will be determined by how we handle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over the next years. LÄS MER
