  1. 6. Renal injury in liver transplantation clinical and mechanistic studies

    Författare :Åsa Norén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Liver transplantation; Renal injury; Ischemia reperfusion injury;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background: Renal injury in liver transplantation (LT) is common and presents both as early and late insufficiency. These conditions are interconnected and have substantial impact on the long-term outcome. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Intestinal effects of lung recruitment maneuvers

    Författare :Jonas Claesson; Ola Winsö; Stefan Lehtipalo; Conny Arnerlöv; Björn Biber; Göran Hedenstierna; Petter Aadahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acute lung injury; oleic acid lung injury; ischemia; reperfusion injury; swine; mechanical ventilation; lung recruitment; splanchnic circulation; laser Doppler flowmetry; tissue oxygen tension; microdialysis; lactate; glycerol; Anaesthetics and intensive care; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; lungmedicin; Lung Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aims: Lung recruitment maneuvers (brief episodes of high airway pressure) are a modern treatment alternative to achieve open lung conditions under mechanical ventilation of patients with acute lung injury. It is well known that positive pressure ventilation with high airway pressures cause negative circulatory effects, and that the effects on regional vascular beds can be even more pronounced than the systemic effects. 3. 8. Intestinal ischemia and reperfusion. Proinflammatory response and organ dysfunction

    Författare :Knut Olanders; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; orthopaedics; Surgery; inflammation; cytokine; leukocyte; reperfusion; ischemia; permeability; Intestine; endothelium;

    Sammanfattning : Intestinal I/R is considered to be an important initiating event in several pathophysiological conditions such as trauma, bleeding, sepsis and pancreatitis, frequently leading to concomitant both single and potentially multiple organ dysfunction. The purpose of this thesis was to study mechanims underlying the development of multiple organ dysfunction, with special focus on intercellular proinflammatory regulation in the concurrent development of tissue injury. 4. 9. Improved bioenergetic recovery during experimental ischemia and reperfusion by irradiation

    Författare :Ann Lindgård; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :energy metabolism; skeletal muscle; monocyte; ischemia; reperfusion; NMR; singlet oxygen energy; light; LED;

    Sammanfattning : Prolonged ischemia and reperfusion frequently occur during clinical operations. The bioenergetic status decreases during ischemia and reactive oxygen species (ROS) are formed during reperfusion, which may lead to irreversible tissue injury. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Microdialysis in Liver Ischemia and Reperfusion injury

    Författare :Anders Winbladh; Per Sandström; Per Gullstrand; Arthur Revhaug; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: New chemotherapy regimens and improvements in surgical technique have increased the number of patients with liver tumours eligible for curative liver resection. There is a significant risk of bleeding during liver surgery, but this risk can be reduced if the portal inflow is temporarily closed; i.e. the Pringles maneuver (PM). LÄS MER
