6. Uncertainty and Risk Analysis in Fire Safety Engineering
Sammanfattning : Two Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) methods are presented which can be used to quantify the risk to occupants in, for example, a building in which a fire has broken out. The extended QRA considers the inherent uncertainty in the variables explicitly. LÄS MER
7. Timetable evaluation with focus on quality for travellers
Sammanfattning : Punctuality and reliability are important for travellers. Railway lines with heterogeneous and dense traffic have proved to be prone to generate delays. Faster services and increased traffic have to be counterbalanced with measures for increased reliability. Efficient timetable planning can improve the use of such lines. LÄS MER
8. Synthetic lubricants and polymer composites for large full film journal bearings
Sammanfattning : The rapid build-up of variable renewable power sources such as wind and solar are leading to increased instability in the electrical grid. Many methods of controlling this instability have been proposed but existing hydroelectric power plants in many cases already been enlisted to fill the regulating power needs of industry and the population. 9. Assessment of Graft Effects and Function in Cell Replacement Therapy for Parkinson's Disease
Sammanfattning : This explorative study aimed to apply, develop, and evaluate assessment methods at various levels in cell replacement therapy for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Observed motor effects in five grafted patients support that timed motor tasks and clinical ratings of parkinsonism are able to monitor motor function, but their psychometric properties need further attention. 10. Hand function in children and in persons with neurological disorders : aspects of movement control and evaluation of measurements
Sammanfattning : Hand function is of great importance in the many daily activities that require well-coordinated hand and arm movements. Measurement of hand function is an essential element in the rehabilitation process, in order to facilitate medical diagnosis and determine developmental stages, functional levels, and the efficacy of treatment interventions.
