1. Intestinal transplantation: Outcome, complications and diagnostic approach
Sammanfattning : Background: Intestinal transplantation is a potentially lifesaving procedure conducted in candidates with e.g. intestinal failure. However, a limiting factor has been the complications, which are inherent to the procedure, along with the inadequacies of current modalities to establish a prompt diagnosis of acute cellular rejection. 2. Perception of touch : Developmental and personality factors in touch avoidance
Sammanfattning : The studies in this doctoral thesis investigated the concept of touch avoidance. Touch avoidance indicates a person’s negative affect toward physical contact/touch. In study 1 the aim was to develop a questionnaire that measures the level of touch avoidance. The results showed that touch avoidance can be measured along five different dimensions. LÄS MER
3. IgA Nephropathy – Mucosal Immunity and Treatment Options
Sammanfattning : In the present studies we have explored the link between food hypersensitivity and IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and evaluated treatment options in primary and recurrent disease. Approximately one third of our IgAN patients had a rectal mucosal sensitivity to gluten, as demonstrated by increased local mucosal nitric oxide production and/or myeloperoxidase release after gluten challenge. 4. Design of Robust PID Controllers with Constrained Control Signal Activity
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new method for design of PI and PID controllers with the level of control signal activity taken into consideration. The main reason why the D-part is often disabled in industrial control loops is because it leads to control signal sensitivity of measurement noise. LÄS MER
5. PID Control, Design, Extension, Application
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers the design of PID controllers, the extensions of these controllers to improve their performance, and the applications of these design methods to industrial processes. New tuning methods for PI and PID controllers have been presented. These methods uses a model of the process to be controlled, given as a transfer function. LÄS MER
