  1. 1. Regulatory Factors that Reveal Three Distinct Adipocytes The Brown, the White and the Brite

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : The Wenner-Gren Institute, Stockholm University

    Författare :Tomas B. Waldén; Stockholms universitet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adipocyte; UCP1; brite; brown; white; Hox Zic; miRNA; MEDICINE Physiology and pharmacology Physiology; MEDICIN Fysiologi och farmakologi Fysiologi; Physiology; fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Adipose tissues have long been considered to derive from a common origin. Even the functionally different brown and white adipose tissues were generalized to share a common origin. Brown adipose tissue is a highly innervated and vascularised tissue containing multilocular and multimitochondrial brown adipocytes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Regulatory Immune Responses and Repair Mechanisms in Atherosclerosis

    Detta är en avhandling från Experimental Cardiovascular Research Unit, Lund University

    Författare :Sara Rattik; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atherosclerosis; Cardiovascular disease; T helper 2 cells; ApoB100; Regulatory B cells; Regulatory T cells; Smooth muscle cells; IL-22.;

    Sammanfattning : Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of lipid rich plaques in the arterial wall. Rupture of a plaque results in clinical manifestations such myocardial infarction or stroke. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulatory properties of dendritic cells and B cells in adaptive immunity

    Detta är en avhandling från Bengt Johansson-Lindbom, Dept. of Immunotechnology, Sölvegatan 33A, 223 62 Lund

    Författare :Bengt Johansson Lindbom; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; Immunology; Cellular differentiation; Cytokines; Dendritic cells; B lymphocytes; T lymphocytes;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based upon four original papers in which human dendritic cells (DCs) and B cells have been analyzed in terms of how they influence the character of adaptive immune responses. DCs isolated from human tonsils were found to possess a capacity to directly regulate proliferation, isotype switching, and antibody production in B cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. T Regulatory Cells – Friends or Foes?

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Camilla Lindqvist; Uppsala universitet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Treg; T regulatory cell; FoxP3; CD25; CLL; B-cell lymphoma; MEDICINE Microbiology; immunology; infectious diseases Immunology Clinical immunology; MEDICIN Mikrobiologi; immunologi; infektionssjukdomar Immunologi Klinisk immunologi; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : T regulatory cells (Tregs) have been extensively studied in patients with cancer or autoimmunity. These cells hamper the immune system’s ability to clear tumor cells in cancer patients. In autoimmune diseases, on the other hand, they are not able to restrain autoreactive immune responses. 5. 5. Function and Regulation of B-cell Subsets in Experimental Autoimmune Arthritis

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Anna-Karin E. Palm; Uppsala universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; B cells; marginal zone; autoimmune arthritis; spleen; lymph node; antigen presentation; Fc gamma receptor IIb; complement receptors 1 and 2; mast cells; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär immunologi; Biology with specialization in Molecular Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B lymphocytes play a significant role in autoimmune arthritis, with their function stretching beyond autoantibody production to cytokine secretion and presentation of autoantigen. However, the involvement and activation of different B-cell subset in the autoimmune response is not fully clear. LÄS MER
