1. Ras-MAPK signaling in differentiating SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a malignant childhood cancer, originating from sympathetic neuroblasts of the peripheral nervous system. Neuroblastoma is a heterogenous group of tumours, while some are highly malignant others can spontaneosly mature into a more benign form or regress. LÄS MER
2. Signaling determinants in Trojan horse-mediated dissemination of Toxoplasma gondii
Sammanfattning : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects all warm-blooded vertebrates including one third of the global human population. While infection is typically asymptomatic in healthy human hosts, reactivated and acute infection in immunosuppressed or immunecompromised individuals can lead to lethal toxoplasmic encephalitis After ingestion, the parasite crosses the intestinal epithelium and rapidly achieves systemic dissemination, ultimately establishing chronic infection in the brain. 3. RAS-MAPK syndromes - a Clinical and Molecular Investigation
Sammanfattning : The RAS-MAPK syndromes are a group of clinically and genetically related disorders, characterized by cardiac defects, facial dysmorphism, cutaneous abnormalities and neurocognitive impairment. The pathogenesis is dysregulation of the RAS-MAPK pathway, and several genes within the pathway are involved. LÄS MER
4. Effects of prenatal IL-6 exposure and hyperinsulinemia on neuroendocrine regulation
Sammanfattning : Prenatal exposure to infection is associated with several neuroendocrine disorders. We therefore wanted to elucidate if cytokines, generated in response to maternal infection, play a key mechanistic role in this associations. LÄS MER
5. Ribosome display for selection and evolution of affibody molecules
Sammanfattning : Affinity proteins are invaluable tools in biotechnological and medical applications. This thesis is about combinatorial protein engineering principles for the generation of novel affinity proteins to purify mouse immunoglobulin, detect a potential cancer marker protein or inhibit a cell proliferation pathway.
