  1. 1. Targeted Therapy of Colorectal Cancer : Preclinical Evaluation of a Radiolabelled Antibody

    Författare :Ylva Almqvist; Anders Sundin; Vladimir Tolmachev; Hans Lundqvist; Matthew K Robinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Molecular medicine; tumour targeting; antibody; A33; radionuclide; colorectal cancer; therapy; Molekylärmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Targeted radiotherapy (TRT) of cancer is a promising approach that enables selective treatment of tumour cells, while sparing normal tissue. The humanized monoclonal antibody A33 (huA33) is a potential targeting agent for TRT of colorectal cancer, since its antigen is expressed in more than 95 % of all colorectal carcinomas. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Two-Step Targeting for Effective Radionuclide Therapy : Preclinical Evaluation of 125I-labelled Anthracycline Delivered by Tumour Targeting Liposomes

    Författare :Amelie Fondell; Lars Gedda; Detlef Gabel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radionuclide; Auger electrons; liposomes; targeting; tumour therapy; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : For the treatment of cancer, Auger-electron emitting radionuclides are strongly dependent on their close proximity to DNA to utilize the local therapeutic potential of the Auger electrons. This thesis investigates a two-step targeting approach that uses targeting liposomes for the delivery of an Auger-electron emitter, 125I, coupled to a DNA-binding compound, Comp1, to the tumour-cell DNA. 3. 3. Antibody-Based Radionuclide Targeting for Diagnostics and Therapy : Preclinical Studies on Head and Neck Cancer

    Författare :Marika Nestor; Matti Anniko; Jörgen Carlsson; Hans Lundqvist; Vladimir Tolmachev; Matthew Robinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Otorhinolaryngology; antibodies; radionuclide targeting; tumour targeting; therapy; diagnostics; immuno-PET; head and neck squamous cell carcinoma; Otorhinolaryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody-based targeting techniques play an increasingly important role in cancer research. By targeting a structure that is abundant in tumour cells, but rare in healthy tissues, an antibody can mediate the delivery of radioactivity specifically to tumour cells in the body. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Precision medicine and targeted therapy : Turning the tables on cancer

    Författare :Anja Mortensen; Marika Nestor; Gregory Adams; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :p53 cancers; PM2; radiosensitization; radio-immunotherapy; MDM2 X inhibition; combination therapy; targeted radionuclide therapy; CD44v6; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : An extended understanding of the molecular characteristics of cancer has led to a revolution within the field of precision medicine. This thesis explores the utilization of two targets for precision medicine, namely, CD44v6 and murine double-minute 2 and X (MDM2/X). LÄS MER

  5. 5. 177Lu-DOTA-octreotate Radionuclide Therapy of Neuroendocrine Tumours : Dosimetry-Based Therapy Planning and Outcome

    Författare :Ulrike Garske-Román; Barbro Eriksson; Anders Sundin; Jens Sörensen; Dik Kwekkeboom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy for the internal radiation of neuroendocrine tumours expressing somatostatin receptors has made great advances and offers promising results. 177Lu-DOTA-octreotate is one of the most widely used radiopeptides, but kidneys and bone marrow are organs at risk.
