  1. 16. Core Biopsy of Breast and Axillary Lesions : Technical and Clinical Aspects

    Författare :Shahin Abdsaleh; PG Lindgren; Per Skaane; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; Automatic core needle biopsy; Semiautomatic core needle biopsy; Surgical specimen; Dynamic needle behavior; Hormone Receptors; Radiologisk forskning; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this work were to image and analyze the needle behavior at automated core biopsy, to investigate the clinical utility of an alternative core biopsy technique using a semiautomated gun in breast and axillary lesions, and also to compare core biopsy with surgical specimens in malignant breast lesions regarding histologic features and hormone receptor expression.In two experimental studies, using butter and silicon phantoms, respectively, the needle pass was imaged and its dynamic behavior studied. 2. 17. CT Guided Ablation of T1 Renal Tumors

    Författare :Vanessa Acosta Ruiz; Anders Magnusson; Mikael Hellström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Renal tumor; Ablation; Radiofrequency ablation; Microwave ablation; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The widespread use of medical imaging contributes to the increased detection of incidentally detected small renal tumors, a majority which are often indolent masses found in elderly patients with preexisting chronic kidney disease. In Sweden, partial nephrectomy with minimal invasive surgical approach is the current standard for removing these tumors, although another option is percutaneous image-guided tumor ablation that allows treatment of elderly patients with comorbidities for who surgery is a risk. 3. 18. MRI Diagnosis of Intracranial Hemorrhage : Experimental and Clinical Studies

    Författare :Montserrat Alemany Ripoll; Kaj Ericsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; hemorrhage; experimental; MRI; T2*-w GE sequence; old microhemorrhages; stroke; Radiologisk forskning; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning; radiologi; Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work was to improve the diagnosis of intracranial hemorrhage with MRI, using, among others, T2*-w GE sequences. Various sequences were tested in rabbits at two magnetic field strengths. Then, the most effective technique was applied to stroke patients. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Water–fat separation in magnetic resonance imaging and its application in studies of brown adipose tissue

    Författare :Jonathan Andersson; Joel Kullberg; Håkan Ahlström; Mark Lubberink; Kerstin Lagerstrand; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; brown adipose tissue; magnetic resonance imaging; water–fat signal separation; graph-cut; positron emission tomography; 18F-fludeoxyglucose; infrared thermography; machine learning; artificial neural networks; deep learning; convolutional neural networks; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Virtually all the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signal of a human originates from water and fat molecules. By utilizing the property chemical shift the signal can be separated, creating water- and fat-only images. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Ultrasound Examination in Infant Clubfoot with Special Emphasis on the Talonavicular and the Calcaneocuboid Joints

    Författare :Ylva Aurell; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; tomography; medical instrumentation; ultrasonography; Clinical physics; radiology; infant; foot deformities- congenital; anatomy; clubfoot;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the study was to develop an ultrasound (US) protocol for evaluating congenital clubfoot pathoanatomy before and during early treatment. By using 3 easily defined and reproducible US projections the talonavicular and the calcaneocuboid joints were assessed. LÄS MER
