1. CT Guided Ablation of T1 Renal Tumors
Sammanfattning : The widespread use of medical imaging contributes to the increased detection of incidentally detected small renal tumors, a majority which are often indolent masses found in elderly patients with preexisting chronic kidney disease. In Sweden, partial nephrectomy with minimal invasive surgical approach is the current standard for removing these tumors, although another option is percutaneous image-guided tumor ablation that allows treatment of elderly patients with comorbidities for who surgery is a risk. 2. Aspects of Intraoperative Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
Sammanfattning : Background: Increasing knowledge about mechanisms that trigger and maintain atrial fibrillation (AF) has influenced the possibilities for treatment and even cure of AF. The surgical Cox Maze III procedure is still the gold standard for the curative treatment of AF. LÄS MER
3. Outcomes and safety of new techniques for pulmonary vein isolation in patients with paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation : A study based on randomised trials and registries
Sammanfattning : Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common disease with a high prevalence in the adult population. Treatment of AF encompasses antiarrhythmic drugs and catheter ablation to reduce symptoms. LÄS MER
4. Localised and Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma. Aspects of Treatment
Sammanfattning : Localised and Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma. Aspects of Treatment. Aims: Paper I To assess the long-term results in patients operated with NSS in situ for RCC, with special reference to their dependence on tumour grade and stage. LÄS MER
5. Lower limb venous incompetence and the effect of radiofrequency ablation versus open surgery : Focus on haemodynamics, quality of life and health economic aspects
Sammanfattning : Chronic venous incompetence (CVI) is a common condition, and varicose vein treatment is one of the most-common surgical procedures performed worldwide. Common symptoms of CVI are pain, cramps, itching, feeling of leg heaviness and venous claudication. Advanced CVI can lead to skin changes, eczema and venous ulcers. LÄS MER
