  1. 16. Generation and metrology of ultrashort pulses and their application in attosecond science

    Författare :Lana Neoricic; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ultrashort; filamentation; femtosecond; dispersion scan; RABBIT; photoionisation; attosecond; interferometry; pump-probe; spectroscopy; photoelectron; wavepacket; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Neoricic;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the dynamical processes in atoms and small molecules initiated by the absorption of ultrashort, coherent light pulses. The studied phenomena takeplace on the femtosecond (1 fs = 10−15 s) and attosecond (1 as = 10−18 s) timescales and critically depend on the properties of the light fields that drive them. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Tendon transfer mechanics and donor muscle properties : implications in surgical correction of upper limb muscle imbalance

    Författare :Eva Pontén; Bertil Romanus; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :laser diffraction; sarcomere length; tendon transfer; spasticity; muscle morphology; myosin heavy chain; capillary; rabbit; human; cerebral palsy; stroke; handkirurgi; hand surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Tendon transfer surgery is used to improve the hand function of patients with nerve injuries, spinal cord lesions, cerebral palsy (CP), stroke, or muscle injuries. The tendon of a muscle, usually with function opposite that of the lost muscle function, is transferred to the tendon of the deficient muscle. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Solute exhange across the alveolo-capillary barrier

    Författare :Kristina Nilsson; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; pulmonary oedema.; nuclear medicine; smoking; permeability; rabbit; DTPA; Pulmonary surfactants; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study the transfer of solutes across the alveolo-capillary barrier in experimental models of alveolar surfactant dysfunction and lung injury as well as in smokers. Experimental studies were performed in anaesthetized, and mechanically ventilated animals. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Factors Contributing to Detrusor Overactivity - Obstruction, Hypertrophy and Afferent Nerve Stimulation

    Författare :Annette Schröder; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi; knockout; mice; estrogen receptor; EP1 receptor; prostaglandin; rat; endothelin; detrusor overactivity; rabbit; smooth muscle; bladder outlet obstruction; hypertrophy; pharmacognosy;

    Sammanfattning : The consequences of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) with respect to detrusor hypertrophy, structural and functional changes, and obstruction-induced detrusor overactivity were investigated in vivo and in vitro utilizing various animal models. Possible pathophysiological pathways and therapeutic approaches were tested by drug treatment and the use of knockout models. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Respiratory mechanics during mechanical ventilation in health and in disease

    Författare :Cecilia Svantesson; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Recruitment; Collapse; Overdistension; Viscoelasticity; Elastic pressure-volume curve; Respiratory disease; Health; Human; Rabbit; Positive end-expiratory pressure; Anaesthesiology; intensive care; Anestesiologi; intensivvård;

    Sammanfattning : The elastic pressure-volume (Pel-V) curve of the respiratory system can be used as a guide for improved ventilator management. It may indicate risks of lung damage associated with collapse or overdistension of lung units. LÄS MER
