  1. 1. Characterization of RNA exosome in Insect Cells : Role in mRNA Surveillance

    Författare :Viktoria Hessle; Neus Visa; Maria Carmo-Fonseca; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cell nucleus; nuclear bodies; mRNA surveillance; cotranscriptional assembly; Rrp6; Rrp4; mRNP; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology; molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The exosome, an evolutionarily conserved protein complex with exoribonucleolytic activity, is one of the key players in mRNA quality control. Little is known about the functions of the exosome in metazoans. We have studied the role of the exosome in nuclear mRNA surveillance using Chironomus tentans and Drosophila melanogaster as model systems. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The RNA exosome and the maintenance of genome integrity

    Författare :Judit Domingo Prim; Neus Visa; Andrés Aguilera; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; EXOSC10; RRP6; DNA damage; diRNA; DDRNA; DNA end resection; homologous recombination; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : The RNA exosome is a ribonucleolytic complex that acts on different RNA substrates and plays important roles in RNA metabolism. In recent years, the synthesis and the processing of RNA have been directly linked to the integrity of the genome. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The exosome and the maintenance of genome integrity

    Författare :Judit Domingo Prim; Neus Visa; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The RNA exosome acts on different RNA substrates and plays important roles in RNA metabolism. The fact that short non-coding RNAs are involved in the DNA damage response led us to investigate whether the exosome plays a role in DNA repair. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Exploring the interplay between mRNA degradation and ribosome dynamics using high-throughput sequencing

    Författare :Yujie Zhang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Regulation of gene expression in response to fluctuating environments is essential for cellular survival. This regulation is multi-faceted, with mRNA abundance determined by both synthesis and decay. mRNA decay regulates transcript abundance, enabling swift transcriptomic adaptations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mediator and its role in non-coding RNA and chromatin regualtion

    Författare :Jonas O P Carlsten; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mediator; transcription; centromere; telomere; tRNA; exosome;

    Sammanfattning : Mediator is a multiprotein complex required for the regulation of RNA Polymerase II (Pol II) transcription. Mediator transmits regulatory signals from activators and repressors to the Pol II machinery at the promoter, but the complex has also many other functions related to control of gene transcription.
