1. Object Classification and Image Labeling using RGB-Depth Information
Sammanfattning : This thesis is part of research for the vision systems of four robots in the EU funded project, CROPS[l], where the robots should harvest apples, sweet peppers and grapes, and explore forests. The whole process of designing such a system, including the software architecture, creation of the image database, image labeling and object detection, is presented. LÄS MER
2. Controlling the Fluorescence Properties of Diarylethene-based Photochromic Systems
Sammanfattning : Diarylethene (DAE) photoswitches are one of the most promising families of photochromic molecules because of their outstanding photophysical/photochemical properties. This class of compounds, which can photoisomerize between an open colorless and a closed colored form, has been applied in various fields in this thesis work, spanning one-color fluorescence intensity modulation, all-photonic full-color reproduction, light-induced color changes for molecular logic gates and information processing. 3. Unsupervised construction of 4D semantic maps in a long-term autonomy scenario
Sammanfattning : Robots are operating for longer times and collecting much more data than just a few years ago. In this setting we are interested in exploring ways of modeling the environment, segmenting out areas of interest and keeping track of the segmentations over time, with the purpose of building 4D models (i.e. LÄS MER
4. Vision-based Perception For Autonomous Robotic Manipulation
Sammanfattning : In order to safely and effectively operate in real-world unstructured environments where a priori knowledge of the surroundings is not available, robots must have adequate perceptual capabilities. This thesis is concerned with several important aspects of vision-based perception for autonomous robotic manipulation. LÄS MER
5. Colour Correction of Underwater Images Using Spectral Data
Sammanfattning : For marine sciences sometimes there is a need to perform underwater photography. Optical properties of light cause severe quality problems for underwater photography. Light of different energies is absorbed at highly different rates under water causing significant bluishness of the images. LÄS MER
