  1. 6. Learning Applications based on Semantic Web Technologies

    Författare :Matthias Palmér; Marko Turpeinen; Ambjörn Naeve; Dragan Gašević; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Semantic Web; Linked Data; Web Applications; Technology Enhanced Learning; REST;

    Sammanfattning : The interplay between learning and technology is a growing field that is often referred to as Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). Within this context, learning applications are software components that are useful for learning purposes, such as textbook replacements, information gathering tools, communication and collaboration tools, knowledge modeling tools, rich lab environments that allows experiments etc. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Performance and Flotation-REST in Tests of Marksmanship, Problem-solving and Perceived Exertion

    Författare :Henrik Bergman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Flotation-REST; archery; performance; primary- and secondary process; creativity; originality; EMG;

    Sammanfattning : This present thesis examines whether or not relaxation as floating may be exploited to reinforce primary process (inner-directed) orientation, and thereby enhance performance, creative problem-solving ability and originality. Two Articles are presented both using randomized factorial design. Article I include two subexperiments. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Bending and Mending the Neurosignature : Elicting the Relaxation Response with help of Flotation-REST ( Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) in Patients with Stress Related Pain

    Författare :Sven-Åke Bood; Torsten Norlander; Gun Nordström; Lars-Gösta Dahlöf; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Burn-out; flotation-REST; pain; prolactin; relaxation response; stress; attention; depression; placebo.; Psychology; Psykologi; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract. The overarching purpose of the current thesis was to assess the long term effects of a documented treatment program involving flotation-REST for the experience of pain, from the point of view of variables connected with Melzack´s neuromatrix theory, and to examine the extent of a potential attention-placebo effect in connection with flotation-REST. 4. 9. Bending and Mending the Neurosignature : Frameworks of influence by flotation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) upon well-being in patients with stress related ailments

    Författare :Sven Åke Bood; Torsten Norlander; Gun Nordström; Jarl Risberg; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Attention-placebo; Burn-out; Depression; Flotation-REST; Pain; Prolactin; Relaxation response; Stress; Therapy; Psychology; Psykologi; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : The overarching purpose of the current thesis was to assess the long term effects of a treatment program involving flotation-REST for the experience of pain, from the point of view of variables connected with Melzack´s neuromatrix theory, and to examine the extent of a potential attention-placebo effect in connection with flotation-REST.The first study (Paper I) aimed to investigate long-term effects of flotation-REST four months after treatment. 5. 10. Cardiovascular function after long-term bed rest

    Författare :Jonas Spaak; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Microgravity; simulated weightlessness; carotid baroreflex; static exercise; muscle chemoreflex; orthostasis; tilting; leg exercise; blood pressure; heart rate; stroke volume;

    Sammanfattning : On earth, daily activities involve standing, changes of posture and various types of muscle action, all of which challenge the cardiovascular regulation. Removal of the orthostatic stress for a longer period, as during spaceflight or head-down tilt bed rest, consistently results in cardiovascular deconditioning. LÄS MER
