  1. 1. Resource Allocation under Uncertainty : Applications in Mobile Communications

    Författare :Mathias Johansson; Anders Ahlén; Mikael Sternad; Vikram Krishnamurthy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; resource allocation; uncertainty; probability theory as logic; scheduling; multiuser diversity; Jaynes; maximum entropy; Bayesian probability theory; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing; signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with scheduling the use of resources, or allocating resources, so as to meet future demands for the entities produced by the resources. We consider applications in mobile communications such as scheduling users' transmissions so that the amount of transmitted information is maximized, and scenarios in the manufacturing industry where the task is to distribute work among production units so as to minimize the number of missed orders. 2. 2. Resource Allocation in Airborne Surveillance Radar

    Författare :Johannes Wintenby; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :radar resource management; radar control; sensor management; surveillance radar; electronically scanned antenna; adaptive tracking; resource allocation;

    Sammanfattning : Radars equipped with an Electronically Scanned Antenna (ESA) have the potential of directing the electromagnetic radar beam without mechanically adjusting the antenna. Furthermore, the beam can be redirected instantaneously towards any location in space. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multiantenna Cellular Communications : Channel Estimation, Feedback, and Resource Allocation

    Författare :Emil Björnson; Björn Ottersten; Mats Bengtsson; Marios Kountouris; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : The use of multiple antennas at base stations and user devices is a key component in the design of cellular communication systems that can meet the capacity demands of tomorrow. The downlink transmission from base stations to users is particularly limiting, both from a theoretical and a practical perspective, since user devices should be simple and power-efficient, and because many applications primarily create downlink traffic (e. 4. 4. Downlink Resource Allocation in Cooperative Wireless Networks

    Författare :Jingya Li; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; precoding design; load balancing; relaying; imperfect channel state information; imperfect synchronization; Coordinated multi-point transmission; I Q imbalance; resource allocation; fractional frequency reuse;

    Sammanfattning : Wireless cooperative networks, which is based on exploiting coordination among multiple access nodes, has been considered as a promising approach to improve the spectral efficiency, reduce the energy consumption, and extend the network coverage of future wireless communication systems. In practice, the actual benefit of multi-node cooperation is affected by a variety of factors, including the quality of channel state information (CSI), the constraints on the feedback and backhaul links, hardware impairments, resource allocation and data processing schemes. Sammanfattning : Recent advances in Internet technologies have led to the proliferation of new distributed applications in the transportation, healthcare, mining, security, and entertainment sectors. The emerging applications have characteristics such as being bandwidth-hungry, latency-critical, and applications with a user population contained within a limited geographical area, and require high availability, low jitter, and security.
