  1. 1. Protein modularity : Structure and interactions by NMR and SPR

    Författare :Amélie Wallenhammar; Maria Sunnerhagen; Björn Wallner; Lotta Tollstoy-Tegler; Helena Berglund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Protein degradation is a fundamental cornerstone of regulation of protein levels in the human body. For proper function, numerous molecular processes rely on fine-tuned communication through specific interactions between proteins. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Exploring small heat shock protein chaperones by crosslinking mass spectrometry

    Författare :Wietske Lambert; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cross-linking; mass spectrometry; protein-protein interactions; Hsp21; BS3; DTSSP; MALDI-TOF TOF; client protein; substrate; aggregation; unfolded protein; chaperone; Small heat shock protein; crosslinking;

    Sammanfattning : Together with other molecular chaperones, small heat shock proteins are key components of the protein quality control system, which is comprised of several hundred proteins and acts to maintain proteome homeostasis in the cell. Small heat shock proteins bind unfolding proteins at an early stage, to prevent these from further unfolding and aggregating. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modification of Surface Properties Through Polymer Adsorption. Kinetics, Interaction, Degradation and Stability

    Författare :Dries Muller; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TIRF.; protein; poly lactide ; poly ethylene oxide ; gelatin; exchange; enzyme; ellipsometry; desorption; degradation; adsorption; copolymers; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The interfacial behaviour of polymers in relation to surface modification and polymer degradation was studied. In the first part the interfacial behaviour of amphiphilic poly(ethylene oxide)–poly(D,L-lactide) (EmLn) diblock copolymers at hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates from aquous solution was studied. Sammanfattning : Microgels are lightly cross-linked hydrogel particles in the sub-micrometer to micrometer size range with a capacity to drastically change their volume in response to changes in the external environment. Microgels have an ability to bind and store substances such as biomacromolecular drugs, notably proteins and peptides, and release them upon stimuli, making them potential candidates as drug delivery vehicles and functional biomaterials.
