  1. 1. Studies on maxillary overdentures : implant- and prosthesis survival, cost analysis and patient-reported outcomes

    Författare :Peyman Ghiasi; Christel Larsson; Bruno Chrcanovic; Sofia Petrén; Victoria Franke Stenport; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prosthodontic; Dental Implants; Dental Prosthesis; Implant-Supported overdenture; cost analysis; Maxilla; Prosthesis Failure;

    Sammanfattning : Edentulism is a debilitating condition which may negatively affect quality of life, particularly in relation to nutritional and social health, speech, and poor facial appearance. Prosthetic options available range from conventional complete dentures to implant-supported overdentures (ISODs) and implant-supported full arch fixed partial dentures (ISFAFDPs). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Clinical aspects of restorative treatment in the primary dentition

    Författare :Mirja Varpio; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Child; Child; Preschool; Cohort Studies; Composite Resins; chemistry; DMF Index; Dental Caries; epidemiology; microbiology; pathology; therapy; Dental Cavity Preparation; classification; Dental Enamel; pathology; Dental Restoration; Permanent; statistics numerical data; Follow-Up Studies; Glass Ionomer Cements; chemistry; Humans; Molar; Prevalence; Prosthesis Failure; Recurrence; Sweden; epidemiology; Tooth; Deciduous;

    Sammanfattning : The failure rate of restorative treatment in primary teeth was studied in a cohort of children born in 1981 and related to caries diagnosis, prevalence and distribution on different tooth surfaces, and compared with a cohort of children born in 1971. Concurrently, the longevity of composite resin in modified Class 2 cavities in primary molars was followed up and the resistance of deciduous and permanent enamel to acid adjacent to composite resin and glass polyalkeonate cement (GPA) was tested in vitro. 3. 3. Aortic Valve Replacement: The Influence of Prosthesis-Patient Mismatch for Left Ventricular Remodeling, Cardiac Function and Survival

    Författare :Shahab Nozohoor; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prosthesis-Patient Mismatch; Left Ventricular Remodeling; Survival; Aortic valve replacement;

    Sammanfattning : The best valve substitute for aortic valve replacement (AVR) in terms of hemodynamic performance, durability, incidence of complications, and survival remains the subject of much debate. It has been suggested that valve performance is influenced by the potentially modifiable variable prosthesis-patient mismatch (PPM). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biological aspects of synovial fluid mediated aseptic prosthesis loosening

    Författare :Martin Andersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Aseptic loosening; synovial fluid; osteoblasts; bone resorption; IGF;

    Sammanfattning : Aseptic prosthesis loosening is the most common reason for late failure of total hip arthroplasties. Resorption of the peri-prosthetic bone, resulting in a loose prosthesis is characteristic for aseptic loosening. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Biosynthetic conduits and cell transplantation for neural repair

    Författare :Jonas Pettersson; Lev Novikov; Liudmila Novikova; Mikael Wiberg; Lars Dahlin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Spinal cord injury; Peripheral nerve injury; Nerve graft; Biosynthetic conduit; Nerve tissue engineering; Neural prosthesis; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap; neurologi; Neurology; neurokirurgi; Neurosurgery;

    Sammanfattning : Spinal cord injury results in complete failure of the central neurons to regenerate and is associated with cyst formation and enlargement of the trauma zone. In contrast to the spinal cord, axons in the injured peripheral nerve have the capacity to undergo some spontaneous regeneration. LÄS MER
