1. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency
Sammanfattning : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. LÄS MER
2. Process Intensification by Ultrasound Controlled Cavitation
Sammanfattning : Process industries are cornerstones in today’s industrialized society. They contribute significantly in the manufacturing of various goods and products that are used in our day-to-day life. Our society’s paradigm of consumerism accompanied by a rise in global population drives an ever increasing demand for goods. LÄS MER
3. Process Intensification through Acoustic and Hydrodynamic Cavitation
Sammanfattning : Process industries are cornerstones in today’s industrialized world. They contribute significantly to the development of diverse commodities and materials that are used in our daily lives. Process intensification is an approach implemented to boost manufacturing efficiency and capacities in a more sustainable and energy efficient way. LÄS MER
4. Modeling and Control of the Open Plate Reactor
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is on modeling and control of the Open Plate Reactor (OPR), a new heat exchange reactor being developed by Alfa Laval AB. It combines intensified mixing with enhanced heat transfer capacity into one operation. LÄS MER
5. Intensification of the biogas process by improved process monitoring and biomass retention
Sammanfattning : The utilisation of energy in the form of biogas is one of the environmentally sound alternatives available using renewable energy sources. Biogas is formed by anaerobic degradation of organic material, the main consistuent being energy-rich methane. LÄS MER
