21. Large-Scale Production and Use of Biomethane
Sammanfattning : Societal ambitions to create an economy based on renewable resources, require the development of technologies transforming these resources into energy-carrying products and biomaterials. Dual fluidized bed (DFB) gasification represents a key technology for achieving sustainability targets, as it is a scalable and highly efficient route for the conversion of biomass. LÄS MER
22. Statistical approaches to PM steel process improvements
Sammanfattning : Increased performance:cost ratios for PM steel components is vital if current growth rate of market shares of such components versus competing technology is to be sustained. Both performance and cost of components are affected by variation of component properties. LÄS MER
23. Opportunities and uncertainties in the early stages of development of CO2 capture and storage
Sammanfattning : The topic of this thesis is carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS), which is a technology that is currently being promoted by industries, scientists and governments, among others, in order to mitigate climate change despite a continued use of fossil fuels. Because of the complex nature of CCS and the risks it entails, it is controversial. LÄS MER
24. Experience driven software process assessment and improvement
Sammanfattning : To maintain and increase competitive advantages, software organizations must continually strive to refine and improve their development processes. Software process assessment and improvement is the means by which development organizations assure and improve their processes, practices and tools to support their specific needs. LÄS MER
25. Lignocellulosic Ethanol Production Based on Steam Pretreatment and SSF: Process Development through Experiments and Simulations
Sammanfattning : Lignocellulosic materials, such as wood, waste products from the forestry industry, agricultural residues and herbaceous crops, serve as an abundant and comparatively cheap feedstock with the potential to be used for large-scale ethanol production. However, the complex structure of lignocellulosic materials, the presence of various hexose and pentose sugars in hemicellulose, and the presence of various compounds that inhibit the fermenting organism constitute physical barriers that add to the production cost and make full-scale introduction economically more risky.
