  1. 1. Genetic Factors and Nasal Tolerance in Rat Models for Rheumatoid Arthritis

    Författare :Shemin Lu; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nasal tolerance; linkage analysis; MHC; genetics; pristane induced arthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; collagen induced arthritis; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : We used three animal models of rats for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in this study. Firstly, We found that CXI induced arthritis (CXIIA) is associated with the RT1 f haplotype and follows a chronic disease course affecting peripheral joints with both progression and relapses. 2. 2. FROM DISEASE TO THE GENE - Identification of arthritis-regulating loci in rats

    Författare :Carola Rintisch; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pristane-induced arthritis; Rat strain; Autoimmunity; Rheumatoid arthritis; Quantitative trait locus;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the peripheral joints that eventually leads to cartilage destruction and bone erosion. The causes of RA remain largely unknown, but considerable evidence suggests a multifactorial aetiology involving both environmental and genetic factors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genetic dissection of experimental arthritis in the DA rat

    Författare :Liselotte Bäckdahl; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :RA; Experimental arthritis; QTL; congene; Aplec; > human association;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting peripheral joints. Persistent inflammation causes cartilage deterioration with severe joint deformations as a consequence. The etiology is largely unknown but complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors contribute to the disease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The genetics of experimental arthritis in rodents

    Författare :Michael Förster; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Unravelling the genetic susceptibility to complex autoimmune diseases and understanding these pathologies on a mechanistic level are major obstacles to improve our possibilities for therapeutic intervention and an increase in the quality of life of affected patients. Studies in experimental rodent models, that can be run under stable environmental conditions, which itself can be subjected to experimental manipulation, and in cohorts of potentially unlimited size, hold significant promise for the understanding of genes and pathways involved in complex autoimmune diseases. 5. 5. Chronic Arthritis in Rats; Pathogenesis and genetic factors

    Författare :Carina Vingsbo Lundberg; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rheumatology locomotion; muscle system; Skeleton; autoimmunity inflammation adjuvans MHC association; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : The immune pathology and MHC association of chronic arthritis was studied in three rat models for reumatoid arthritis (RA). Susceptible rat strains develop a T cell dependent chronic disease after immunization with rat collagen type II (CII). LÄS MER
